ok i had to share this with QOTD

Original post by jcslady

this is only something you read about....

my good friend flat out married an alcoholic, she knew it but thought she could fix him...

He is the life of the party but has MEGA issues..

Soooo she found receipts in his pocket from taking a 'female friend' to lunch because she broke up with her boyfriend!!! ah....she said NO way...

anywho fast forward to a recent football game FH was going to with Mike and guess who shows up with him 'the home wrecker'

ah....he is seeing her on the side and now I know
I feel so bad for my friend she is having a hard time right now with him, her mom who is ill and job issues....

so my question is

SHOULD SHE KNOW....

I'll be honest and from your post seems like he can tell her things and she'll believe it or make excuses for him. The same way he is an alcoholic but thought it would just stop, the same way she found receipts and he said she broke up with her bf so he took her out to eat. OK if this is true then he should be honest about this, even if it was true then why hide it? I would be pissed off for him going out to eat with someone else but not telling me, obviously there is something to hide. Im sure he also had to lie about where he was going, so she sees that he can lie about these things

Like i said, ive seen so many situations where women take it out on the person who told them. I even know of situations where they dont even talk to eachother anymore. Also remember you will involve your FH and he will be in the middle bc it is his friends.

I would do it but maybe anonymously. Or did anyone take pics and she happens to be in them? maybe casually show her the pics, like 'oh look do you want to see pics from the football party' Did he make it seem like it was supposed to be a secret, and said to you not to say anything? maybe just casually bringing it up, and in a way where you dont say 'he is cheating on you' but ask her how come she wasnt at the party and then somehow in the conversation mention this girl was there.

but you know her best and know how she would react. If she would be appreciative and would want to know then tell her. SOME women believe it or not dont want to know, bc they wont end the relationship but also hate that everyone else knows and that she has to deal with it. We put ourselves in the situation and say that 'i would want to know and want somebody to tell me' but everybody is different, we cant think everyone is like us.

The other option you have is going up to her DH and saying that you know he is cheating and he better tell her or you will, or maybe dont make it threatening but say he needs to tell her bc you know that since he brought this girl around that some people have plans of telling her and he better do it before someone else does.

OMG I feel sick reading this ...your FH was there and he was socialzing with your FH & this other woman? Did he know FH would be there? If so I would share bc if she finds out she will know your FH KNEW ANYWAY! What a nerve of him to bring the 'home wrecker' out with your FH...its not like you caught him out somewhere he knew your FH would be there!

FH called me to ask for a phone number for a friend to get an extra ticket!!! i said i wasn't giving to him out of principal he claims he 'forgot' that i told him the whole mess weeks ago....guys don't listen... anyway she ended up going home but the guy got so drunk that FH said he would not be hangin out with him too much....

honestly, i don't think my friend would get mad especially since she was the one that told me out the girl in the past... I am going to feel her out and ask her if he was still hangin out with the girl if she says no...then her husband is lyin and i am tellin her....

what do you think?

well seems like she would stay with him even if she knows. Its hard especially with what you said, that you think she wont get mad. Theres also a chance she knows or has a gut feeling, even if she wont admit it to others. Its you call and just do what you feel comfortable with at that moment.

I happen to agree with Espo on this.... if you tell her she was at the party she'll get mad, he'll make up some excuse, and then the next thing will happen and he'll make another excuse......if this was my GOOD friend I'd tell her. I have been in similar situations (NEVER husband though bf's when we were younger) and I told my friend she stayed and years later we have talked about it...shes one of my BM's and luckily she didnt get mad at me but she didnt leave either,,,till she saw it with her own eyes which ******

I feel sorry for your friend bw the alcholism and now this..ugh poor girl

You say she's your good friend. I think I would have to tell my good friend. Whos closer you and the girl or your FH and the guy??

I think it really depends on your relationship. She married an alcoholic and probably already sticks to his side no matter what so she may just make an excuse for him and drop you. It depends. This is a tough situation. Maybe she already knows, why else would this guy bring his homewrecker with him knowing you would be around?
