Re: ok, I'm another one who is second-guessing her dress.
I love this dress.....it sort of reminds me of my own b/c of the off the shoulder look.....very pretty! I love it.
I know exactly how you feel abou t having doubts and this is my advice to you: All of these dresses are soooo pretty. Its overwhelming. When you see another that you like in a magazine, it is hard not to doubt the one you bought but you must remember that you felt that way about the dress you chose, too. Try and remember the original feelings you had when you put on your dress. When you say that you feel as if this dress isn't 'you,'.....well, all I have to say to that is that I don't think in reality any of these dresses are any of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOBODY wears white with beads, bows, buttons, ruffles, flowers on a daily basis....your dress iabsolutely gorgeous.
B/c you have been looking at it for so long, you start to enjoy the fresh perspective of other dresses. I guarantee that if you went and bought another that you 'loved,' you'd feel the same way a bout that one in just a few weeks when you look at a whole bunch of others. Trust your instincts.....this dress is magnificent.

I think you will look great in either dress, do you have a chance to try on the 2nd dress before you buy it? Sometimes you may not like the way a certain dress looks once it's on... My dress is strapless, so I am biased!

I can order the off the shoulder dress online & if I don't like it, I have 7 days to return it.

I think they're both lovely dresses, and very different, so you're going to have a hard time deciding! The only thing that I might wonder about are the sleeve band thingys on the new dress--would they be annoying after about fifteen minutes? Would you be able to lift your arms? You want to feel comfortable in your gown, as much as you can in a big heavy tight wedding dress.

Re: ok, I'm another one who is second-guessing her dress.
i hope so. what makes me nervous is how theyre combining two different dresses to make it, so i dont even know how its going to come out.
My sister encouraged me to have a dress made, and although I was tempted, I knew I'd be freaking out the entire time, worrying that I was going to hate it when it was finished, and then what would I do? I love my gown, and although I have been second guessing myself, I keep reminding myself that I got a really good deal on my gown, and although I might see something that is equally lovely, I probably would have to pay a lot more for it, and it's just not in my budget. My fiance has been very understanding about costs so far--as he doesn't quite get the importance of most of this stuff, and it's his money, largely--but he would balk if I said I was buying a second gown.

Definitely try on the second dress...they are 2 completely different looks...and sometimes what looks great in a pic looks different when you try it on...i had some doubts after buying my dress...until i went back to visit it and get some good pics of me in it..maybe when the first one you ordered comes in & you try it on you'll fall in love with it again?

i dont know if you said it already, but have you tried the second dress on to see if you like it? if not, have you tried other dresses on that are off the shoulder. the reason i ask is because i love the look of the off the shoulder dress but when i tried them on, i didnt find them comfortable at all. just another something to think about.

Yes, that's me in my album wearing the strapless dress. I actually have to get ready right now b/c I'm going to the store to take better pics for my hair trial. If I still have doubts when I leave the store I'll order the off the shoulder dress to see how it looks.

Have you tried on any off-the-shoulder dresses?
I thought it was something I wanted in a gown before I started looking. When I tried it on, I hated how it looked and felt on me!
I like the strapless one in your album, and I think it will look great on you when it fits you.

ok - I took a look & this is what I'd say.
The dress in your album is very classic wedding gown and the new one is modern.
What kind of wedding are you going for? Are you the type of girl that's been dreaming of this fairy tale wedding forever? Then you're more classic & should stick with the 1st. If you're more trendy & chic, go for #2. Does that help?
Both are beautiful, you're going to look great either way.

I love both dresses, but before you get upset try the other dress on. You may put it on and HATE it! BUt at the same time if you do not love your dress then do what you need to do to LOVE your dress, even if that means finding another one.

Thanks. I thought I was over feeling this way but I still catch myself browsing for dresses. Yes, the one I bought does look pretty when it's clipped properly. The second dress that I like isn't that expensive so maybe I will buy it & sell whichever one I do not want. My mother's going to kill me.
Lizzie, do you have a pic of your dress?
I think that if you are still looking, your original dress may not be the one for you. As soon as I put my dress on I just knew that was it and I never looked again...

Re: ok, I'm another one who is second-guessing her dress.
All I can say is best of luck to you since at this point you must be trying your dress on again.
Hopefully you'll try on some off the shoulder gown while you're there to see if you like that look.
Up to this point I still second guess my dress decision. But whatever, I decided it's only one day and what is important is that we're getting married.
Let us know upon your return your decision.

ok, so I just got home & they forgot that they sent my dress to be cleaned b/c it was a sample sale dress. grrr... so I couldn't try it on. I think i'm going to order the other one & return it if I don't like it.

They are both beautiful gowns but I like the one you bought. When I tried on gowns like the one you posted here with the off the shoulder straps, I found them to be constrictive and annoying. I definitely think you made a great choice with your gown!

Re: ok, I'm another one who is second-guessing her dress.
YOu will look beautiful NO MATTER what dress you have on (really, you are a pretty girl): it'll be about how you feel day of.
Before you eat yourself up: get clips, grab a sister/best friend/mom and go try on your dress with shoes, makeup, hair pins, VEIL, ect. It would be easy to add details to a dress to personalize it. Many things can muddy a dress experience.
I felt the same way becuase I got a nontraditional dress that I felt was 'me' but not 'wedding'. Then I tried it on with a really gorgeous (completetly overpriced as everything wedding is) veil. It was PERFECT.
Good luck!

Re: ok, I'm another one who is second-guessing her dress.
Bummer about not being able to try it on today.
I just remebered that 'kittythestray' had her dress off the shoulders initially and then had her seamstress cut them off.
If you feel better and to avoid the hassle, I would try similar dresses before ordering it. However, only you know what to do.
