I don't know what a slipper basket is...



there - I said it - everyone's talking about it, and I could just nod and play along (even though no one can see me nod thru a computer screen) or I can wantonly flaunt my ignorance to the world of LI brides...

Anyone want to save me from my blissful ignorance?

Am I going to want one as soon as I find out what it is???

it is exactly what it sounds like. a basket of slippers. people place them out for their guests so that if they take their shoes off they dont run around bare foot.

I also didn't know what a ribbon wand was, or what a cry packet was.

You're hilarious! A slipper basket is a basket that you can put in the bathroom filled with slippers so the ladies can change their shoes when dancing at the reception and not do the whole 'barefoot' thing. There are SOO many things I never heard off until I came on this board!

Don't feel bad, I had to ask last week. A slipper basket is a basket full of slippers for the guest who brought uncomfortable shoes to your wedding and need something more comfortable to wear while dancing and mingling.
Now I have a question, does anyone EVER USE IT?

All of these things you are talking about I had no idea what they were a few months ago. I'd also like to add sand ceremony and sweetheart table to my prior ignorance too. A few months have expanded my knowledge.

As I figure, if I didn't know what they were, I don't need them. That's just me.

i'm not doing it...i'm more worried about guests who would WANT/NEED to use the slippers but can't because some cheap ******* guest will steal them all for him/herself

I would put them in a save place if I were you and tell the gm if anyone is looking for a slipper to wear, that they can get them out of your dads car, or in a closet, or where ever and have them get if to the soar footed person.

Another question, should I have a slipper basket for men too?
