Did you guys have all these vendors call your home leave messages and leave you emails???????? where did they come from and this is good I got an email thanking me for registering to longislandweddingmall.com- r they serious I never heard of them. Im soooo pissed its like invading ya know!!!!

I think catering halls frequently give their preferred vendors the contact info of people that book with them.
If you have been to any expos and provided accurate contact info, believe me you will be contacted.

wow thats a lot of info, so ok but i didnt give my number out hmmm, its just so annoying, today i had 7 vendors on my machine!!! its out of control but I guess i have to expect it. thanks for responding

I used to get repeated calls - mostly from entertainment companies. They were the worst for some reason. I told them everything and anything to get them to stop.

DID YOU GO TO ANY BRIDAL SHOW???
right after my first bridal show, that following week i got a gozillion phone calls... ever since then i NEVER register my info at the Bridal Shows!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Oh- and I too got an e-mail sayhing 'thank you for registering' to that thing...?? I just hit Delete!

Have not been to one bridal show and I keep getting emails from the same person saying how wonderful it was to meet me at such and such bridal show. I have responded to her that we have never met, and each week, she emails me again. Delete key and I are having a wonderful relationship these days.

I mostly use my cell phone number, and leave my cell off most of the day. I can delete a message a few seconds into it if I want to. Pain in the butt, but it's the only downside to the planning so far!

The calls have somewhat stopped for us now, but after we first started looking at halls we got a million calls from vendors. We got a lot of mail from places too. I figured out that it was Fox Hollow that gave out my information. On a copy of an estimate they gave us they wrote my name but they spelled my last name wrong by reversing a few letters. I noticed that all of the mail I received for the next few months from vendors was with that spelling of my name, obviously connected to Fox Hollow. I was really annoyed because we didn't even book with them. I didn't like the fact that they were able to give out my information like that just from us coming to look at the hall. I didn't realize they could or would do things like that.

The deal is that weddings site (even our beloved LIW/NYW) and wedding vendors all function on a referral basis and many make $$ off of referrals and selling prospects. So frequently names get passed along. NEVER: use your home number or give out personal email. We have made it very clear to our vendors that they are NOT to pass on our name and the thing to do to put an end to it is clearly to informe the vendor that you have selected someone else and do not need their services. PERIOD. If you are not buying there is nothing to sell.

Good point!!! YOu know what YEs I went to the bridal expo at the marriot but the only vendor i gave my number was to things remembered !!! those pieces of ****, I was racking my brain and when you said expo there you go- I get tons of mail too. ahhh the joys of planning lol

Remember, you are of no interest to them if you are not a bride so: 1. tell them you eloped 2. tell them you hired someone else firmly.

You will definitely get bombarded for a little while, but it does get better. When people call, just tell them that you've already booked that vendor.
