OK Ladies Help me define Corp. Business Casual

Original post by Fran M

Since we have had a number of 'What Not Wear' threads here I figured I would get some unbiased opinions. How do you feel about the following clothing in a corporate office?

open toed shoes,
spaghetti straps,
halter tops
Capris
Skorts

Thanks for your opinion.

I work at a Securities firm and I can wear:

Open toed shoes if they are tasteful....no flip flops, no rediculous platforms etc....

Capri's - yes, if they are not denim or 'khaki like' Like regualr work pants, but cropped....

Spaghetti Straps - NO

Halter - NO

Skorts - never...EVER!

We are aloowed to wear opentoe shoeswithout stocking for the summer... I work for a retail company and for ANYONE who works in the garment district anything goes... It is what they call busineess casual.. but you can not wear tiny, tiny skirts and anything you wear has to be appropriate,,,

I think Capris, opentoed shoes are find.
Haltertop no, Spaghetti Straps I think are Ok as long as the shirt isn't low cut.

No skorts

Thanks Ladies
So Skorts are out!

Im going to revise the no open toes to be just No Flip Flops or Thong Sandals. The rest will stay. Ill look the other way on the Capris unless they become out of line.

The last thing I want to spend my time doing is be the Dress Code Monitor. I have no problem with a nice sandal but I don’t think flip flops or thongs belong in a corporate office on anyone. And I don’t want to debate Capris or Skorts vs. Shorts!
