i think the MC is a good option, but I also think the raw bar adds a nice touch to cocktail hour. the presentation is really nice... I don't really think an exit treat it worth it though because i feel like everytime i go to weddings i'm full by the end of the night..people also leave early so not many people would be able to enjoy an exit treat.. so any food 'upgrade' is probably better spent on cocktail hour than at the end of the night because more people will be able to enjoy that upgrade

I'd probably splurge on the photo booth. In my opinion, even though you may enjoy seafood, some of your guests may not, so you may end up spending all that extra money on things people won't necessarily eat. With the photo booth, I'm sure everyone will enjoy that. Every wedding I've ever been to with a photo booth, there was usually a long line for it. So its quite popular. You can even personalize your booth and add a monogram, or wedding logo to be printed at the end of each pic your guests take.

I totally missed the exit treat option...I'd go with that! I've been to a wedding in california and they had an IN & Out burger truck come by...def very memorable! But if I were you, I'd go with photo booth or exit treat :)

LINE you just said the word that makes a photo booth 'scary' to me. I don't want a line for the photo booth and no one on the dance floor....

This was one of the reasons we decided to skip it.

This. We aren't a fan of the lines that form and there's really not a lot of room at our venue anyway. I would do the MC.. They really get the party started and that's their only job for the night to keep it going.

there was a line for my cousins photobooth at her wedding, but it was SO much fun... and trust me, there were always people on the dance floor too

I would say exit treat or photo booth. Maybe because I'm doing both as well.

Who is your DJ? We have a one man DJ/MC package with After Hours. If your DJ is doing the job of both... it'd be silly to get an MC when the one is suffice. I also felt like since we're having a 'smaller' wedding the one man dj/mc would be great!

everything here.

if i had money to splurge the last thing i'd pick is an MC for a DJ. we're doing a photobooth ... that's a real crowd pleaser and plus they get an extra takehome.

We're doing both as well, and the line thing wasn't really an issue since it moved quickly, and plenty of people were still on the dance floor. I can't speak for everyone, but after a few drinks, all I wanna do is eat some more! So I guess thats why I'm more partial to a photo booth/exit treat :)

Photobooth is def a lot of fun at a wedding!

You really can't compare having an MC to a raw bar or an exit treat. The MC is the person who announces you into the ballroom, makes the announcements, etc. That is totally separate and not a splurge, it's a necessity - even if they're not in the guests face, you need someone to do that.

Aside from the MC, if you want extra food, I would do an exit treat, because it can also act as a favor and save money in the long run.

i voted exit treat because we're doing that lol!

im always hungry again after a wedding and we usually stop somewhere to get food.

we're doing bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and orange juice. i better get one too when we leave lol!

There's plenty to eat at a wedding. i would go with one of the non-food add on's, to make the wedding more fun.

As you are getting married after Halloween why don't you go to the Halloween store the day after and buy props?

We did this and everything was 50% off.

We will have a table set up with the props and a tripod with a camera. Everyone can take turns taking pics for each other and you won't have to feed or tip the attendant.

FH nephew and niece in law did this and everyone had fun. We liked the idea and decided to do it too. Plus if you go to Halloween parties you will have some stuff to use for the following year OR you can sell it here to other brides trying to save money that want a photo booth and can't afford it too.

As to the food, extra bars or exit food, people will be eating SO much that day they probably couldn't eat another bite.

The guests will be eating and drinking for 5 hours, more food can make them feel full and uncomfortable.

As to DJ/MC etc., we are not upgrading to MC or up lighting. Our wedding is in the daytime and there will be plenty of light and I am not paying someone to dance with our guests, plus we can't afford to feed and tip them.

Having said all that....it is Your wedding, so do what makes You happy and enjoy!

Every wedding with a photo booth had a line....but guess what? Dance floor wasn't empty lol. Not everyone will line up at once.

When u have a one man dj he's your dj and mc he just didn't leave from behind the both. He will still introduce us abs the bridal party, and all the dances.

Re: Ok ladies I need your advice

just check the MC because I know we have emailed on the sterling(not sure if you remember,i had asked your opinion :) ) and I think we have the same DJ, I think the paperwork said they don't do announcements(I could be wrong), I got the MC for the sweet 16 pretty much for that reasonbut again I could be wrong on that.

Sherry summerbridejen15 I got your fm I can't reply for some reason!! But yes I remember you! Glad you.enjoyed the food and congrats!!! Thanks fur the heads up in the dj but I.think the wedding package uses a little different than the sweet 16 package. Bill told me the dj will do all basic announcements, intro, dances, cake but I will be meeting with them soon to confirm! Thanks!!
