so we got our reception room upgraded the other day it is now much bigger and there is room to spread out some more.
since we're having such a small wedding (60 ppl), this is the dilemma. the room has a raised platform which is typically used for the sweetheart table and then 4-6 guest tables. all the rest of the tables are normally placed on either side of the dance floor.
the banquet manager recommended that we put another table (a total of 7 guest tables which is all we're having) up on the platform.
My FH likes this idea since it will be more intimate. my friend recommended putting only the sweetheart table and our parent tables on the platform and scattering the rest along the dance floor to make more use of the room.
IMO, 7 tables on that platform is tight. and we have this big room now, why not make use of it. FH’s opinion is that since our wedding is intimate to begin with, why not keep everyone together.
What would you do?

actually, FH's idea was to keep everyone up on the platform. my friend is the one who said we should spread 'em out.
I like it too. Now if I can only convince FH!

2. He's not going to WOTY, because and I quote ' He's LAME'.

Ok- Definatley put sweetheart table and your family tables on the platform- everyone else down below.

I think this really would make for great pics! Remember in the end, you are the bride, you had the most stress planning and its your day(mostly- this is what my SIL told my DH). I wish I would have insisted my DH take engagement pics with my photographer friend for free and done the sign in board. He NOW regrets it. So don't listen to him! You definatley know best!!!!

Spread the tables out, you don't want everyone squished and it may look funny with part of the room empty.

I would totally do what you and your friend suggested. It ***** being cramped anywhere, especially at a wedding. more breathing room all around would be VERY NICE!! Just tell FH we all said to do it that way and there's just NO WAY we could ALL be wrong
