Ok ladies registery question
Re: Ok ladies registery question
To avoid this, I am registering for 16 place settings for our everyday dishes and 12 place settings for our china. We have 10 people in our immediate families only so we knew we would always need more. Also, one thing a lot of my friends said to me was that it is always best to register for more than you need because things break and you always have backups. Def. add to your sets if you can. Atleast get enough for 12 place settings maybe....
Re: Ok ladies registery question
We registered for one set of 8 everyday plates and one set of 8 plates that are from the same company and have the same look but are used either as a show plate or if i just want to change the color. Most companies offer this as an option. We registered for Villeroy and Boch and did my garden for everything, with daisy my garden as 'back up plates' we figure glasses and everything else dont really matter too much!!!!!!
Re: Ok ladies registery question
The everyday stuff I liked comes in pieces not as a set so I registered for 12.
Re: Ok ladies registery question
My mom has a set of inexpensive clear plates she uses to suppliment her place settings. We have a large family so a lot of the time we just use paper, but for nicer things she will set every other place alternating the china and clear plates.
Re: Ok ladies registery question
We already have two sets of 4 place settings for every day dishes and the styles could not be a worse match (one was mine and one was FHs). So we decided to get new dishes (2 sets of 8). Personally I would not set the table with mismatched dishes but I am OCD about things like that...maybe you could register for one new set of dishes that is either the same pattern as one of your current sets or the same style in a neutral color from the pattern. Honestly most people will not even notice the mismatched dishes.
