OK the office is in Bohemia and I live in Babylon I have 10+ yrs in the medical field and they offer insurance but I will have to pay into it

it really depends, can range greatly. I know managers in the city who make about $60-70k. But depends alot on location and the type of business and how big it is. If its a smaller office then they will pay less and obviously more for large corporations.

i would say ask for 45,000ish...im an office manager/operations director, and i make MUCH less then that.

yeah i agree. I know in LI they do pay less, usually outside of the city period you do see a big difference in salary, not always but often.

Not sure about a doctors office, the managers i know are managers at large corporations in the city so thats why they can make a good salary.

Hopefully someone who has experience at a doctors office can answer this for you. But maybe in the 40's would be good

how about looking on craigslist for similar postings and positions to see what they generally make. Just to give you somewhat of an idea, maybe try monster.com too

you can maybe even google, doctors office manager salary in LI and see what comes up.

From an HR perspective you should not take or present an amount less than what you are making minus bonus.

Unless they are offering other perks... for example they pay for your medical.....

They should or will ask what your comp was previously so they could make an offer in line with that.

Just remember, if you say negotiable, they will assume they can talk you down...It's definitely a tough situation!!

I have also seen the salary estimator on Monster and Career Builder...

Anyway, good luck, and remember, everything happens for a reason! I truly believe we end up exactly where we're supposed to be!!
