It's not that I'm not happy with my dress. I just have lots of changes that I'm making to it and this is so a rought draft.
First the dress was HUGE on me! All over... and she could only pin it... and it still wasn't even tight enough in some parts. She couldn't even pin it at my hips... so my hips look like they are shaped funny because of the 10 layers of crinolyn attached to the dress!! I tried to pull it back in one pic. AND... since it was really long.. the floor was pushing the dress straight up... so the crinolyn was being pushed up wayyy higher than its supposed to fall when the dress isn't being pushed up by the floor (its kind of a stiff dress)... does that make sense? if i step out of it.. it pretty much would just stand straight up for the most part. so i feel like i look like a fatty fat fat cow in it from the way it was laying and of course the size.
I'm going to take the scalloped top away in the front and sweetheart it. i dont like how my boobs look the way it is.
we are adding a white sash thats going to wrap around my waist 3 times and have this twist feature in the front. which also gives your eyes something to look at. it looked great... only we didn't get any pics of it. stupid us!
AND the dress in person has a major sparkle factor that just isn't showing up in pictures they way i would liek it to... so im going to also be adding crystals to it. this is sooo diaspointing to me. because seeing it in person then on camera .... its like 2 different dresses. i think the crystals might help it out. theres beading and shimmer all over it and it's just not showing in the pics.
I paid it off today. which was awesome though!!!
On a side note... I found out (because i had to) that some BM's are chipping in for the blue Manolos from the sex and the city movie... so I will have those!! woo hoo!! cant wait!! I dont think they all know that I know about this... but i needed to know because of the fittings.. i needed to know if i had to buy shoes or not.
so what are your thoughts... be honest?? i'm not in love and i'm just kinda blah about it. im scared to be the girl who got the wrong dress. i feel like with my changes it will be better. but its not that im hating it... im just not loving it.
Lastly i'm sooooo glad I picked November.. that dress is heavy heavy heavy... i was sweating insanely in it. its soooooooooooooo hot under all those layers!!!!

I really like the dress. I think the scalloped neckline is very pretty. You may feel better about the dress once they take it in a bit and you can see your shape in it.

I think it's beautiful and once you get your alterations done it will be perfect for you!
I understand exactly how you feel though, I'm less than thrilled with my dress after my first fitting...I'm trying to keep it out of my head and not freak until alterations are done and I can see what it actually will look like the day of.
Don't stress yourself, you are beautiful, your dress is beautiful and you will be a beautiful bride!

I LOVE your dress! I am surprised they didn't do a hallow to hem for you when you got your measurements cause it looks like it is scalloped on the bottom as well. I have that scalloping on my dress as well and I had to get the hallow to hem, which ultimately saved me on needing a hem in the long run. ANyway, I REALLY REALLY like your dress! You look beautiful in it! Now I can't wait for my 1st fitting!

The dress is beautiful. I think it will be even nicer w/ the alterations you described. I think once all the work is done, and it is the way you want it you will love it! As for the shoes awesome bm's!!!! Love those shoes! I got married in Jan and my dress kept me warm lol. Those dresses are so heavy. I could not imagine wearing my gown in this weather. My dress was heavy.

I think that once all of your changes are done, and it fits you properly, that you will fall in love with it!
I understand being blah about it now since it's not 'complete' and didn't fit correctly.
Don't fret because both the dress and you will be beautiful!

I think the dress looks beautiful on you., I love the idea about the ribbon around you waist, sweetheart will look great too.
I feel like dresses never sparkle too much in 'regular' camera pictures because of the flash. But I do think adding more crystal will be fabulous. who doesn't love crystals?

Kerri the dress is gorgeous!! The alterations will make a big difference once it's fitted to you. I think making the neckling sweetheart and adding the sash will look spectacular!
And kudos to your BM's for getting you 'THE' shoes!! Mkae sure you buy cushions for the sole of your feet. Those manolos are HIGH!!

I think your dress is absolutely gorgeous! Even if you did NOTHING to it , it's beautiful! It's very hard to see details in a lot of dresses because they're white (although, it can be seen very well in your photos). Your photographer will do close ups and some just of your dress. Of course, you're the one wearing it and YOU should be happy with it.

I love your dress and I think you are doing the right thing by making it a sweetheart neckline. I think it will make you look amazing. It will also visually add to the shape of the dress.....I am so excited to see it all complete.

I think it's beautiful!!!!
Honestly, it's so hard to tell what the dress looks like when it doesn’t fit you right. When I came home from my first fitting I cried my eyes out bc I thought I hated it since it was too big on me too. But once it was finally fitted to me I loved it 100 times more!
I'm sure you're going to look even more amazing in it the next time you go back.

You are crazy!! I love it. I think you look beautiful!! Yes it does look big but once they have that fitted to you its going to look amazing.. and I agree with the sweetheart neckline, that will look fab!!. I can not picture the white sash you are describing so I cant wait to see pictures of that!
You def did not pick the wrong dress!

Re: OK my dress....
Thank You soooooooooooo much guys!!
I'm worried but feeling a little bit better.
I'm scared the dress is boring because it's all one design... meaning just the same lace everywhere. But in real life it has sooo much more life to it.
It's comforting to know that there are some of you out there (like you Kristen..chicky) who felt similiar to how I feel now...a nd in the end you loved your dress.
They gave me hem lace seperate... so the bottom of the front is just cut straight on the bottom... but there's another piece that has to be sewn on once they hem it so it will be scalloped on the bottom of the front.
I DEFINATELY need the sweetheart!! My boobs just look odd the way it is now.

Haha.. I've NEVER seen those shoes in real life!! I don't even know how high they are! I'm assuming like 4 inches!! But I'm hoping for more like 3 even though I'm pretty sure they will be 4 inches!!
What kind of cushions should I get? I've never bought those before. Do I get them from a drug store or a shoe store?? IDK!! haha!!
THANK YOU for that advice!!

I'm not sure what you mean by hallow to hem.... but they did send the hem for the bottom of the front seperate. So if you look carefull the bottom of the front is not scalloped... because the real bottom is seperate and they will sew that piece on once they have the proper length.
This wasn't a fitting... it was just a viewing... my real fitting is on Sept 12th. I lost 4 pounds since last week... all together down 43... I'm hoping to kick some assss before Sept 12 and drop a bunch more!! haha we will see how that goes though!! I'm assuming once they take it in... they will have to take it in again after that because I'm not going to stop losing weight!!!

I love your dress and i can see what your talking about the sparkles to be honest i think it's the lighting of the room but you can tell that it does have bling to it. You look beautiful in the dress without any alterations so i can imagine once everything is done
