It's not that I'm not happy with my dress. I just have lots of changes that I'm making to it and this is so a rought draft.
First the dress was HUGE on me! All over... and she could only pin it... and it still wasn't even tight enough in some parts. She couldn't even pin it at my hips... so my hips look like they are shaped funny because of the 10 layers of crinolyn attached to the dress!! I tried to pull it back in one pic. AND... since it was really long.. the floor was pushing the dress straight up... so the crinolyn was being pushed up wayyy higher than its supposed to fall when the dress isn't being pushed up by the floor (its kind of a stiff dress)... does that make sense? if i step out of it.. it pretty much would just stand straight up for the most part. so i feel like i look like a fatty fat fat cow in it from the way it was laying and of course the size.
I'm going to take the scalloped top away in the front and sweetheart it. i dont like how my boobs look the way it is.
we are adding a white sash thats going to wrap around my waist 3 times and have this twist feature in the front. which also gives your eyes something to look at. it looked great... only we didn't get any pics of it. stupid us!
AND the dress in person has a major sparkle factor that just isn't showing up in pictures they way i would liek it to... so im going to also be adding crystals to it. this is sooo diaspointing to me. because seeing it in person then on camera .... its like 2 different dresses. i think the crystals might help it out. theres beading and shimmer all over it and it's just not showing in the pics.
I paid it off today. which was awesome though!!!
On a side note... I found out (because i had to) that some BM's are chipping in for the blue Manolos from the sex and the city movie... so I will have those!! woo hoo!! cant wait!! I dont think they all know that I know about this... but i needed to know because of the fittings.. i needed to know if i had to buy shoes or not.
so what are your thoughts... be honest?? i'm not in love and i'm just kinda blah about it. im scared to be the girl who got the wrong dress. i feel like with my changes it will be better. but its not that im hating it... im just not loving it.
Lastly i'm sooooo glad I picked November.. that dress is heavy heavy heavy... i was sweating insanely in it. its soooooooooooooo hot under all those layers!!!!

It's gorgeous!!! I do like the idea that you changing the neckline and adding the sash - it will change this already beautiful dress dramatically - and I think you will be over the moon for it. And the blue Manolos they are going to look so fab!!!

Kerri your dress is gorgeous. I think it sparkles. Maybe its not as sparkly as you would like because of the lighting at the bridal salon and all the mirrors but I'm sure it will sparkle in your wedding pictures. I agree that it needs to be taken in a little in the hip area. Right now it's not showing off your figure like it should. But I think once they make all the changes and take it in you are going to LOVE it all over again. Its stunning.

I'm not sure what you mean by hallow to hem.... but they did send the hem for the bottom of the front seperate. So if you look carefull the bottom of the front is not scalloped... because the real bottom is seperate and they will sew that piece on once they have the proper length.
This wasn't a fitting... it was just a viewing... my real fitting is on Sept 12th. I lost 4 pounds since last week... all together down 43... I'm hoping to kick some assss before Sept 12 and drop a bunch more!! haha we will see how that goes though!! I'm assuming once they take it in... they will have to take it in again after that because I'm not going to stop losing weight!!!

I freakin' LOVE your gown because it's LACE!!! Mine is a Lazaro with lace embellishment and the rest is silk satin! Your dress is classy, elegant and gorgeous! xoxox

hey hun,
I couldnt find 'The dress' i wanted so I did what you did and did alterations to make it more 'Me'...
added crystals, removed lace, etc...
And it was the perfect dress for me....
Dont worry- Mine was ordered as a 8 and I'm a 4 so there were LOADS to take in but- a good seamstress will work wonders!

Second, the dress lokes divine on you. Dont fret about taking it in. Thats what they do, and they do it well at Kleinfelds (yeah, I was there on Monday and know what the fitting rooms look like)
You are in good hands and the dress is amazing.

I would dip the neck on yours similar to how mine is, I also feel like it looks funny straight across...
The other thing I did to mine is I cut out the underlay under the train so that the lace is sheer, and no joke it made my dress 20 lbs lighter...it was the BEST thing I did!
Otherwise, I love it! Its super similar to mine

WOW that's a great idea! I looked at the back and thought of the bottom being less so you can see more of the lace. Then I moved onto look at something else. So I think Iknow what you mean!! Yes our dresses are similiar!!!
Never thought I'd end up with lace! And look at me now!!
I'm really hoping I can get this dress to look how I want it to look!

I think it's a beautiful dress & it will look beautiful on you once it's altered to fit better.
I think we all at one point or another have second guessed our choices..I almost changed mine twice, but in the end, I always went back to my original choice. Trust your first instinct..there's a reason why you felt it was 'the one', and try not to drive yourself nuts second guessing.
But I really do think it's beautiful..also remember the photogs camera will capture the beading/crystals much better than an average camera.

The dress is definitly gorgeous...(and so are you :o)...but the first thing I thought was it needed something around the middle, so im glad your adding something there. I think that'll be great for you because you have an awesome waistline. Im also glad you are sweet-hearting the top. Thats a favorite of mine. Cant wait to see it when its done!!
