Ok my fellow happily married Pervettes...here's one for ya...

How soon into your relationship with the DH did you guys take THE plunge? You know, the 'OOoo yea, right there baby' plunge?
I'll go first... Its shameless and my ears are pink but um I think literally..like our second or third date. or maybe the eve of our second date. Anyway we met one night and a week later we um, 'played' and then a few days later we did the HELLO. So um two weeks? LMAO thats probably being generous with time.
I KNOW! Such a bad girl but he was sooooo fine. And to my credit, besides being married now (LOL did SOMETHING right-obviously he likes the milk so much he purchased the cow ), we had been talking through match.com for a few weeks and then on the phone after that for another month before meeting. We shared alot-probably why our relationship accelerated so quick. He wa strying to move me in after a month! but yea...
Our first kiss was in his parents basement lmao (he had the apt there for a bit) during SHREK and our first HELLO WHOOPIE! was after a night of flirting at a party for a friend of his. We had the WEATHER CHANNEL in the background and though I dont remember this, DH says the forecast was sunny lol.

It was just under 2 months after we met......not that we were intentionally waiting.....but I think it was the first time we actually had the opportunity, we weren't even 'officially' dating yet......he took me upstate to his parents house in the Catskills and after a night of drinking we did the deed about 5 times in one night (albeit w/ some lengthy breaks in between!!)......the funny part is that due to the alcohol consumption I was either forgetting his brother & SIL were sleeping downstairs or just didn't care, b/c let's just say when we had breakfast the next day, everyone knew what we were up to the night before I guess I was pretty vocal!!

oh Helen you kill me.
I would say DH & I did the deed 3 weeks into the relationship - but we had LOTS of 'other' fun leading up to that.

i honestly don't remember. that's probably because we never really went out on a 'date'. we were in college, had some mutual friends and just started hanging out. and then we started making out a party one night, made out at another party that same week and the rest is history. i think we were 'hanging out' for about 1.5 - 2 weeks when we were finally alone (we both had 3 housemates at the time) and sealed the deal!
funny thing was there were only 3 weeks left of the spring semester and we swore it was just an end of semester fling. i was about to live out in sag harbor for the summer and he was staying up in ithaca and we didn't want to be tied down for the summer. . . .nice to see how that worked out

10 years or 2 days! Depends on how you look at it. We were friends for 10 years. People say (even DH says) he liked me on and off for those years but I never noticed. After my laast relationship we grew closer and I started to see him differently. We went down to DC to see a baseball game on a Friday. My sis and friend were gonna come but they cancelled last minute. Saturday night he was all mine! I knew it and planned it, but wasn't 100% sure it would happen.
Alright I feel a little lame - we waited about 6 weeks! He was shy - I had to make the first move for the kiss and I think he may have been waiting for me to let him know it was OK to get a little lovin' ... then one night we were heading back from the theatre and he looked at me in a funny little way. So I asked him what he was thinking, and he told me I didn't want to know Then he said I want to take all your clothes off of you ....so i said 'OK, follow me home'
I had to take the initiative too!

Same here, depends on perspective. You could either look at it like as almost 2 yrs or a day! We spent so much time building a friendship and a foundation for our relationship and praying on it together as to where it would go, sharing our life stories, dreams, struggles, etc everything. Since we had met online and lived so far apart, we spent a year and a half doing that from a distance, the beginning spent not thinking it would ever be anything (we actually lost contact for a while, I was pursuing reconciling with my ex fiance) and then as time went on we just cared more and more about eachother, and eventually didnt want to see anyone else (i know it sounds crazy but)...by the time we finally saw eachother in person, we already had such a strong foundation and feelings for eachother, that being together in person for the first time was going to be the determining factor for us and EVERYTHING clicked!!!! We had feelings of love for eachother before that, but we realized we were in love with eachother right away and....as I said, everything clicked! It definitely never felt as if it was something rushed into since we spent so much time building a foundation and making sure we didn't enter into anything quickly (I mean for goodness sake, we waited a LONG time to see eachother in person, I think bc we knew if we did and it went right, it would be a HUGE life change for us...one of us would have to move a great distance!!! AK and PA aren't just around the corner)... but it may sound kinda bad that once we saw eachother, we romped!! Def unplanned! That was one of the best days of my life, DH told me he loved me and he was all emotional (which was really touching for me to see) and we just went with how we felt!

Honestly I don't think its bad. I mean what I consider 'bad' is the people who say they love one another but dont try tor eally build foundations and who dont put everything out there on the line with a plan as to where they are going. I mean the ones who use it as a means of sexual intimacy and 'play at it' if that makes sense. I ahve had those kind of relationships which is why i feel allowed to speak on it
But with DH was different. He knew what he wnated; someone to settle down with, so he started looking for that kind of girl. I in the beginning was afraid of that level of committement, but in the month and a half that we talked (every night for an average of 6 hours a night I KID YOU NOT lol) we created a plan-we weren't playing at a relationship, we were trying to see if we were right for the other in a serious committement. And I think online sites like Match.com or the one you guys met through, are different from random chat convos and hook ups because for the most part, the people on these things ARE looking for that lifemate, so they know what they want and as you said, try to build foundations.
Like DH and I, agreed that we didn't wnat to be with people who smoke,d drank too much, wern't serious about a future etc. So we got all of that out of the way-the things most peopel do on the first few daytes, through a month and a half. We knew where we stood then we leapt together and worked things out as they came.
So yes lol as long winded as this as, I do understand exactly what you weretrying to say.

Talk about long winded, it took me a huge story to say 'one day!' for real tho, i think you def hit it on the head. esp with the online thing, for alot of ppl (i know its not like this for everyone but), you're putting out there what youre looking for in a partner, you spend alot of time on the phone talking about things others may not have gotten to so quickly bc if you had met in person... youd have the ability to communicate so many other ways, whereas when all we had was the phone for so long and no way to kiss or hug or touch, we couldnt be distracted by physical stuff which left us A LOT of time to talk about so many other parts of ourselves and our lives. it laid such a good foundation for us personally. we had those LONG @ss phone convos late at night too. Isnt it fun to think back on that? Those were so fun! Was always interesting for us tho bc of the time change...Alaska is 4 hours behind so he'd be fine if we got off the phone at 12 or 2am...but it was 4 or 6am here!
...And I know maybe I shouldnt have said 'it sounds bad'...who judges bad. only one to judge me is the big guy upstairs and im sure hes not crazy about us not waiting for marriage but i take responsibility for making that decision. the honest truth is that when we saw eachother for the first time in person, it sealed everything for us, we loved eachother and went with how we felt!

it was technically our 3rd date... which DH always jokes i put out quickly...BUT in my defense...our 3rd date was a month after our first two...which were 2 nites in a row...DH lived in Israel at the time so after our first two dates, he had to fly back, we talked & emailed everyday and he was back in NY a month later for business and some lovin'!!!
