I don't know about spas, but Captiva island and Sanibel are the prettiest parts of FL I've ever been too.

I used to live in NW Florida in Pensacola, there are some amazing places in Destin. My parents used to stay at a huge resort when they would visit with spas and villas & hotels on the water!
Also there are plenty of places in pensacola, as well as Navarree which area are you looking for...
You can also fly jet blue into New Orelans stay there a few days, drive 4 hours to Pensacola, beach (it's a nice drive through Lousianna, Missippi, alabama and florida)
And Biloxi, Missippi has nice places as well..

Here is a picture at Sunset , My parents normally stayed in the Tower facing the gulf. They would rent a villa/apartment there since it is so close to everything. Plus my father is older so elevators are always key. (the view is off their deck)
Basically they just rented chairs and umbrella's every day and Dh went deep sea fishing.

I have family in the Naples area-it's absolutely beautiful down there! It's a nice area to beach/sun, shop, eat, golf.
I haven't been to any spas to recommend personally, but have eaten/hung out at the Registry and Ritz Carlton. Both are on the beach and gorgeous. Of course, both are pretty $$$$$.
