Ok quick question about Thank you cards

Ok quick question about Thank you cards

I am writing out my Thank you cards for my shower this past weekend....so here is my question.

My FMIL bought me cards that say:

(on the cover)

Thank you for your bridal shower gift

Then when you open it it says:

Thank you for sharing in our joy with such a thoughtful gift. We greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Ok so with that said......do I still have to write my Thank yous in the card or can I just sign them and send them???
My FMIL says just sign and send but my Mother says I should write alittle something...(which I have been doing but I still have 35 more to write out)

What do you girls think??

I just finished them all and I wrote something in each and everyone of them....Thank you

I would right something short and sweet. I am not exactly sure what but something to personalize it.

Yeah, I would write a little something. Maybe thank them for the specific gift they gave.

I would definately write something short and sweet in them, but when it comes to the wedding thank yous, I don't think you have to write much.

I would reference the actual gift they gave. Say when/how/where you'll use it, etc.

I basically did:

It was SO nice seeing you at my shower! (Thank you SO much for the bakeware... can you tell I LOVE red?) (Thank you so much for your generous gift... we'll put it towards a romantic dinner on our honeymoon) (thank you so much for the Polynesian Luau dinner in Disney World... we'll think of you as we're sipping our Pina Coladas!) Joe and I look forward to celebrating our wedding with you in November. Thanks, again!

I would definitely write a little something to acknowledge what they gave you, whether it was a gift from your registry or a gift card or even cash. It just shows that you took time out of your HECTIC planning and was still able to say something nice.

My cousin got married a few years back and barely wrote anything. I was like, WHAT?! I spent all my time, $ and energy for her wedding and she didn't even write a single thing.
Some people aren't creative when coming to writing out a personal thank you, but at least it should say something else other than a generic message.
