Ok, really stupid question...
I completely forgot what the Matron of Honor is. Can someone remind me? Besides it being someone special, a Maid of Honor is unmarried, and the Matron of Honor is married, right? Also, is there any special duties that come with being that? Thanks again!

Ok, really stupid question...
Your message is really stupid. Seems to be the reason you cannot find work. Aren't you the one saving for a wedding at Burger King? I suggest you elope to Taco Bell with the great provider you've unearthed.

I'm going to choose to ignore whoever it is that is trying to get a rise out of us brides, but to answer your question Melissa, you have a matron of honor when the person you choose to stand up for you at your wedding is married. They just aren't called maids anymore since they have already been wed.

Just curious...
How often do you think LIWeddings checks the board for ridiculous posts like the one above to remove it, and the fake bride...I know they can't be on it 24 hrs. a day, but I'm just curious how often...the fact that it's been left on here for even an hour annoys me. But I'm sure they have other things to do...

Just curious...
It would seem to me that they should be able to track that person down somehow. Some people have no class...

Please ignore the mean and uncalled for comments of a jealous and sad person. As for your question the main responsiblity of the MOH is to be a witness to your marriage and help you get prepared. Many MOH also help organize bridal showers, put favors togther, help the bride with invations, go with you to fitting, give you a shoulder when you are really stressed out, make sure that you have what you need the day-of such as asprin, white thread/needle. I have my sister as my maid-of-honor (unmarried) and my best friend as my matron-of-honor (married). Usually a MOH is a female but it can also be a male. Just think about who in your life is very special to you and would be able to handle the responsiblity of being a MOH. I always think it is really sad when I hear brides post about their MOH not helping or acting very unkind towards them.

You can have both, but its not necessary...I always took it as if the person who stood up for you was married she was matron and if not maid...like Miss and Mrs.Welcome New Vendors
