ok, scared to death! (posting here and 2010) (updated)

ok, long story short ..

me and my older sis have had issues the past few years .... I have stayed close with my god child all along..

the fight was because I bought her youngest an american doll one Christmas .. regardless ... we have not spoken on 3 years. this is killing me and my caitlyn since her mom (my sis) says that they will have no involvment in the wedding

I just sent an edible arrangement to my sis, with a card saying far more than I should have .. saying sorry and all of that ,,, but now, since my tail is between my legs with an apology , it will make it worse if she doesn't respond .

I will break down if she and the 3 girls are not there .. so ... I wait ... please, she will get the arrangement tomorrow ...

Well, seems that $75 in fruit is just enough for forgiveness!! She called me yesterday and we had our first conversation in 3 years! we are having lunch on Saturday! Thank you ladies for your support!! :)

Now, if I could just get FMIL to act human .... That will take a heck of ALOT more fruit .....

Ohhhh my goodness. I have issues with my sister too. Thankfully no children are involved.
I will cross my fingers and say some prayers that she responds. I think you did the right thing. I would have needed to extend the olive branch too.

Sending you my best wishes ;) One piece of advise to keep in mind is that she might feel the need to have some sort of 'last say', and then you might feel the need to respond to that, and the volley will go on. The biggest life lesson experience I can pass on is that if she reaches out to you, but it includes her getting the 'last word' or 'last jab' in it, you just take a deep breath, and keep your mouth shut, knowing you're doing what has to be done to move on. Good luck and keep us updated.
