(this isn't as exciting as the subject would lead it to be ) But anyway, um, I cannot stand the media! THE HURRICANE IS NOT EVEN HEADING HERE! And they are acting like we have 3 hours to run for cover! ARGH! It's annoying. Ok, thanks, that's my piece on this situation.
lol...I'm in california...and its even in our news....

yabbobay, now, I hope you have your water and canned goods in order! I hear these things travel across country at a fairly quick pace!

Marcela, it's path is right towards the Carolinas and then basically inland up through W. Virginia and no where near us. We might get some rain from it, but they're saying it's not going to affect us directly. It MIGHT affect South Jersey directly. Might.

From what I just heard on the Weather Channel, they said even a slight change in course more North rather than North West will bring it directly up to us.
They just don't know for sure where it's going to land. These things can change in a heartbeat.
I think it's a good idea to keep us informed. After all, we do need to keep a serious watch on it. But I do agree with you that it's a little extreme to tell us to run out and get three days worth of water per person, and to board up our windows.
rachel...I'm going to start boarding up my windows soon ;)

kmcwed, I know it could still come here, but I just think the media thrives off of mass hysteria. I think we all need to relax a little about it right now is all. It never hurts to be prepared, whether its for a hurricane or another black out. But, really, the news is driving me nuts! Um, and yabbobay, just incase, I think you should get a 4 day supply of water. I'm telling you, these things intensify over land!

Rachel I couldn't agree more! There's nothing else happening in the news so let's make everyone NUTS over a storm which most likely won't even come NEAR us! I feel for this weekends brides-they're getting made crazy for no reason!

I remember Bob! That was also at the same time that there was a flasher going around to stores in Smithtown and me and my friends had on trench coats and bathing suits and were outside videotaping during the hurricane. We were the Flashing Bobs if I remember correctly (I was about 12 at the time, mind you!)
