if you compliment something, no need to ask detailed questions of cost.

If I get one more text person asking me how much we spent on invites, why we spent so much, they must have cost a fortune, etc etc im going to flip.

A simple, 'I like your invites' or even NOTHING is enough. Just mail back the freakin card.

hopefully that'll set the tone for the wedding and people will give good gifts since they're expecting you to pay lots o' $$ towards everything

Ughhh this is happening to me too! Some people are so rude. I was at a party over the weekend and a girl at my table was asking me about my wedding. She then started to ask how much my dress was, how much I paid per plate, etc etc. I just kept saying 'a lot.' Then, she asked me what FH and I do for a living that we are able to afford everything.

Agreed!!!! FMIL and FBIL were all 'How much did this cost you? Don't you think it's silly to spend so much on something people are going to throw away?'

WHAT DOES IT MATTER??? THAT IS WHAT WE WANTED.
