I was told that I should tip our band but I disagree w/this. They are a seven member band that work for themselves....what do you think?
I was told the same thing (and we have the same band). My FH fell over when someone else told him (he must've not been listening to me). I believe we only have 6 members in our contract.
We're going to tip them, everyone we know who has used them has. I'm trying to get some more info about how much (they are FH's friends that I don't talk to a ton).

I think it's weird to tip our deacon! We're giving an offering to the church and tipping the alter boys, are really supposed to tip him. It's not that I don't want to, but I just feel weird...what do you guys think?

Re: Ok, so help me...who do I tip and how much?
For our wedding, we paid:Maitre'd- Waitstaff $20pp (11 waiters)
florist- None
photographer- $60pp (2 photographers)
Videographer- $60
DJ- $50
limo drivers(although I already paid a 20% gratuity)-$60pp
Hair and make-up girls- $60
bridal attendant.- N/A
It really depends on your invoice. For ex. your limo came out to $2400, on the bottom of the bill it will indicate a 20% gratuity. If you already paid 20% gratuity, unless your driver was phenomenal on day of your wedding, you do not need to tip them extra. For everything else it varies from 10-15%, if you are getting your hair & make-up done at a salon, then it is custom to tip your hair stylist/make-up. If the artist is traveling to your home or venue, then you do not have to tip them. For the photographers/video, unless you don't want beautiful pics (remember they also do the editing/retouching/etc). I would not skim past this area. We didn't tip our florist due to major disaster we went through with them. We were not pleased with the performance and final product on the day of the wedding. If you're still stuck, there's a book called Bridal Bargains that you can check out.
