Ok, so heres a question RE: The wedding day!

Ok, so FH and I were talking last night and we were trying to figure out how much we have to tip everybody??????? As if these people aren't getting paid enough, I mean I know we have to tip them but we have no clue what the 'Usual' tip is so here are the people we need to tip just let me know how much you guys are planning on giving.... add on if I left some1 out!!!!

Matre' d
DJ
Photographer
Videographer
Church staff (I guess the people that play the music?)

I know I prob left out a few peeps but I can't think of any1 else right now

Maitre'd- $3/pp
DJ- Depending on how the night goes, probably 15%
Photographer- he owns his business so probably $100ish
Church Staff- They charge $200 for a 30 min ceremony and the church donation is mandatory so right now I think they are getting enough w/o tipping. I may end up giving a little something the day of.

Yes that is the correct range that you're supposed to tip them.
I have no idea what I am going to do because I have 3 maitre'd's!!!!!!! I don't even want to have that many

unless you have like 600 people at your wedding, i see very little need for 3 maitre'd's ... thats insane

Great link - but its from 2005! I guess we have to add a bit more to the estimates . . . I only have one maitre'd, but 2 bridal attendants. Ugh.

I am tipping what I can afford and what I think the person deserves. I am not going by any particular guideline.

I agree with you totally!!!!! Sorry if I'm sounding harsh here but I searched for ALL these vendors and hired them for my wedding and I am paying through the nose, so these people will get what I give them!

I don't like the 'usual' tip that these places will tell you..I will give what we can afford and based on their service that day...I will not be cheap but come on if you have 200 guests @ $6 per head ($1200) and that doesn't include you bridal attendant....
