I've never heard of that...but if I had to guess I would say it's when there's a break between the ceremony and cocktail hour, and guests need somewhere to go to have a cup of coffee and wait.

from what RH's have told me; its that 1/2 hour before the ceremony starts in case guests arrive early. There's usually cookies; coffee & tea available. THis way they're not just sitting in their car waiting!
However one hall said they had a room where they direct early guests but didn't provide any type of refreshements.
It's a nice touch; last wedding i went to where the ceremony was at the hall; they just had everyone sit in the ceremony room for almost an hour before the ceremony started. By the time the bride walked down the aisle my stomach was growling! LOL!

We had an 'Early Arrival Lounge' which I'm assuming is the same. It's before the CH starts- a room where guests can go and have a drink, light h'or deuvres, and sit down and relax. It was extremely helpful since we had a HUGE # of OOT guests arrive on the bus an hour before the CH started.

yeah, my RH does this. 30 mins of champagne and mingling before the ceremony.
I like it because I can put 4pm on the invite but really the ceremony starts at 4:30

lol they're gonna have to roll them out of there after the wedding. I know personally that WM serves a LOT of food so those people wont complain.

its usually before the ceremoney or before the CH starts and they serve drinks (no liquor, like tea, soda, coffee) to haveyour guests do something until the event actually starts. this is usually free and included in your package, not extra. at least not for me

Hmmm im gonna have to get that nailed down when i book. She said they serve drinks not specifically champagne and she said no food. LE is owned by the same place as flowerfield so im gonna be mad if their policies are different.

yes! I should think it would be the same.
It's not like a lot of food.. they said prob muffins, danishes, small bagels. Mine starts at 1130. but there is def champagne and coffee and such. Plus there are supposed to be butlers walking around wtih trays of champagne as well.
DEF find out because I thought LE would be the same too!

WM really does give alot of food thats par tof the reason why we choose them. They are always throw in such great things. We got chocolate martinis thrown in since the theme of the wedding is chocolate. Our hospitality will consist of champagne and other drinks and finger foods. Our reception starts pretty late so I dont want our guests that are there early starving and thinking about food during our ceremony

My catering hall is doing that. Its for the guests that arrive early. They have some coffee, champagne, and i think some munchies for the people that arrive first at our RH
