Ok this might be a silly (hair) question?

Original post by dancinmyazoff

I have a wedding to go to on Sunday night (Land's End) I'm getting my hair done (just an updo/styled) at my friends salon. I seriously haven't had my hair really 'done' to go out since my prom lol (aside from regular blow-outs after I get a cut or color). Now should I:

I called up my salon to make an appt for an updo and they told me to come in with my hair already straightened

Ahhhh see, now I really think the best thing to do will be for me to call and just hear it from my GF!!!

lol, yea I was going to suggest that but I figured you had a reason for not asking her in the first place

Nope just pure laziness I'd rather take the time to write on here and get replies and opposed to pick up my phone and call

I've always heard that you should NOT wash your hair the day OF....I guess it's easier for them to put it up! So if anything I would not wash it and if they want you to they can do it there....

I've heard this too something about it that the oil helps to keep it together (along with hairspray?). I have no clue though. I would also say wash it the night before.

yeah if the hair is too soft then its gonna be hard for it to stay up...and unless you put lots of product in there is no way it would stay, it would get loose and not stay tight.

my mother is a hairdresser.....and she said it really does not matter.. and so did Jenn Hairgenie...she told me i dont care whether the girls in the BP wash or dont wash...doesnt make a diff.................

YES you can put product in it..I prefer to have them wash it ....and have them load it with product if im putting my hair up b/c i feel soooooooooo dirty with un-washed hair..especially that my hair is oily...If i dont wash it everyday it goes limp

my hair is extremely thin, i have baby fine hair so if i dont wash it then my hair will be oily and the bangs especially look bad so i also have to wash it i have no choice...they do have to load it with products to get it a bit harder

if you are gettin an up do, i have been told by a few hairstylists that you shouldnt wash your hair that day. they say to wash it the night b4. otherwise it might been to silky and hard to keep it up. the oil in your hair helps with an up do.

I'm getting my hair highlighted tomorrow and I washed it tonight and I'm going to straighten it tomorrow before I go. Then she will color it and wash it for me. I agree I LOVE when they wash my hair and massage my scalp. I love when people play with my hair, I could have my hair done all day long!!!
