I have a wedding to go to on Sunday night (Land's End) I'm getting my hair done (just an updo/styled) at my friends salon. I seriously haven't had my hair really 'done' to go out since my prom lol (aside from regular blow-outs after I get a cut or color). Now should I:

i never go to a salon with my hair washed...either if they dye it they wash it there or for updo's or anything like that they actually suggest you dont wash your hair, usually hair that is not JUST washed will hold up better, and if anything again they'll wash it there

I've always heard that you should NOT wash your hair the day OF....I guess it's easier for them to put it up! So if anything I would not wash it and if they want you to they can do it there....

thats what i have heard also.. its better to have day old clean(oily) hair then just washed hair...
when i had my hair dont YEARS ago.. they washed it (i had a trim first) dried it .. and put tons of oily product in it after to weight my hair down so they can style it better....

My place doesnt wash my hair...I usually show up with my hair washed and dry and they just put it up...

I wish I could do that but if I did my hair would be so oily...I can't go a day without washing my hair!!! I wish I could!

Doesnt matter...doesnt make a difff. if ur hair is dirty going there or if they wash it..

Silly me didn't even think of putting this as a choice...I think this is my best bet. I'll wash it right before I go to sleep that way it won't be 'too' oily the next day...worse comes to worse if she needs it to be washed she can always wash it!

If you are going to get an updo. You need to wash and blow your hair before. but do not put any product in it. This is uslally the case because it saves time.
but you could always just call the salon and ask for sure.

I've heard the same thing. I Wouldnt wash it. If they feel you should for the style, let them do it there.

dirty hair works best for updos and what not. i actually got yelled at once b/c i had just washed my hair before getting it done for prom but i had to b/c it was soaked with beer. (long funny story) so they took a lot of mouse and 'dirt' and made it all gross so that they could work with it.
i'd wash it the morning of the day BEFORE the event or the night before the day before the event. i just confused myself...

Oh I know...I'm really the same way. I was just in my best friends wedding and she told all of us to wash our hair the day before...WELL...I woke up SOOOO early...took ashower and TOTALLY washed my hair! There's just no way for me either

i guess everyone is different when i had my hair done for my e-party she told me to wash it and blow it before we came. my sister did the same and our hair stayed very well. I even had mine curled.

My sister the hair dresser ( really though) says when you're hair is clean/freshly washed, it's harder for the hairstyle to hold... go with dirty-ish hair and your hairstyle will come out way better!
