Yesterday he told me that when we DO TTC again, after 3 cycles, on those days we should NOT have any oral sex. He says that there are certain chemicals in saliva that MAY have a negative effect --- has ANYONE ever heard this?? He also told me to BD every 24 hours for 4 days around my O.
I BDd days 9, 11 &13 last time and they worked .... didn't stick, but got me pg anyway.
What are oyur thoughts and opinions? I know most of you know as much or more than many of the Drs. out there!!

NO I never heard that before but THANK YOU for giving me an excuse why I CAN'T do 'that' HA HA ...oh wait...I meant why I cant do THAT to him...oh well I think you meant the other way....

Well now DH is going to be TOTALLY aggravated when I tell him this... as if the romance wasn't gone from our BDing to TTC as it is, this is going to kill it!
But I'm going to save this post in case he questions my reasoning
Seriously, NO I haven't heard of this but I don't doubt its true - I had also read that you have to be careful of many types of things used to during lovemaknig that might interfere with the safe passage of the sperm, etc. (i.e., certain lubricants and the like, other than PreSeed, which helps actually )

I never heard this - but I'm pregnant and I couldn't just Baby dance - I 'needed' that extra 'me' time!

Yup a few years back my OBGNY told me the same things....I think its more for the girl recieving though. Somthing about the saliva and killing off sperm or something. I thought it sounded a bit odd but nothing about TCC is normal!!!

Saliva, definitely kills sperm....sperm is so picky...it needs just the right travel partner.....it's favorite is EWCM...and it can't be mixed with any saliva.
Next thing,.....as far as bding, bding every other night during your 'fertile' period is a good method....however...if your doctor is confident in your DHs sperm... bding every night during the LH surge throughout ovulation and even the day after....will give you better odds. The reason why Bding every other night is sometimes recommended, is for men with lower sperm counts, and they need time to regenerate more sperm. If the sperm count is normal, bding every night....is even better......
Sperm can live up to five days in the right environment,...but we (as ladies) don't always provide that environment......(our mucus may not be to 'sperms' liking) if that's the case.....it's best to get the egg, right when it enters the tubes.....that's why a lot of women swear they conceived the morning after they ovulated...the egg was 'new' and the sperm was 'happy',...had no time to get cranky about the 'environment'.

I heard this as well. But it is only for when the woman is 'receiving'. Just a note: 'Saliva does not kill sperm'., plus after TTC for so many days, your hubby made need a change of pace in the bedroom rather tha the old fashioned way. If air gets into the vagina it can cause a reverse effect for the sperm that are traveling up to the cervix. You have to be very careful.

I've heard that anything can kill off sperm including the bacteria inside the women. We got PG in 2/06 using Preeseed it helps the sperm to hang around . Although I MC 4/14 We will use it again this month
