Babylon Carriage House...it's freaking AMAZING!!! FH and I went for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm obsessed and I can't wait to go back! lol
Nevermind - that's on LI lol In Manhattan you should go to Gyu Kaku! Japanese Hibachi that you cook yourself. It's sooo good!

Well, it's Italian, but not like. chicken parm ITalian... BECCO, love that place, it's fantastic.
Dunno what the budget is either, but the Palm is pretty fantastic... and if you tell them it's your first time there when they ask, you get free dessert

what about Megu (in tribeca)
its Asian/Japanese....you can get sushi there but theres also really good entrees that he would like if he likes steaks and seafood.
this place is soooo friggin good i swear!!

CHINA GRILLE!!!!!!!! Its not chineese food, its fusion........the shanghai lobser...OMG and the dessert.......bananas in a box is seriously unreal!

We went to Alto for my birthday this year--amazing. (Brangelina was there last week) I took him to Gramercy Tavern for his two years ago--also amazing.
A couple other good suggestions:: The House 10 Downing Kingswood Blue Hill Perilla
