I am ready to give up my scissors and get serious. What trimmer or cutting tool should I get? I Whats a good tool to start out with that wont break the bank.

Personally I love the Carl Trimmer (you can get it at Staples) for my larger cuts and I also love the CM personal trimmer for all of my smaller cuts. Both cutters are always by my side.

I concur! I have the Carl Trimmer that's pretty straight and I am in the market for a personal trimmer.

I would get something like this...

its 12 inches long and has a see-thru ruler so you can see what you are cutting

That is a great price Lisa! I paid $35 in staples for mine.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not 12 inches wide so I have a hard time measuring something larger then 8 or 10 inches.

There's a Carl Cutterpede that has a swing out arm that's 12'

Here's what it looks like Cutterpede

I should get a trimmer...but I love my 'carpet knife'/razor/exacto

and a self-healing board!!
