So i went for my 2nd fitting last Thursday-- there is still a lot of things that need to be fixed, so she told me to come back next Thursday the 22nd (2 weeks later 1 week from my wedding) So at the time I didnt realize it was kind of cutting it close. I called yesterday to speak with her to ask her if she can move the date a little closer but they told me Oh she doesnt work today, so fine I call today and they say oh she doesnt work today- so Im like well can you tell me when she does work?? And the woman was like ummmmm hmmmmm ummm wellllll she probably wont be back for a while!!!! So im like WHAT excuse me, um WHY- shes like well her husband is really sick they just found out he has cancer and hes in the hospital & can hardly breath(NOW I FEEL HORRRRRIBLE )
So i apologized and then asked whats going to happen w/ my dress/ whos going to finish it (wedding in 16 days) and the woman was like Oh i am but im sooooo busy I have all of my customers and now Im taking all of her customers so I will do it but Im just sooo busy!!
Ughhhh I totally understand where she is coming from and I dont want to get nasty with her-- but now I really feel like my dress is going to be a super duper rushed job and i swear I WILL NOT SETTLE FOR THAT!!
ughh just needed to vent!!!!
Oh and my mother doesnt want me to take the dress elsewhere!!! ***!

wow, that's a pretty frustrating situation you're in ... sorry you have to deal with that so close to your wedding.

ughh I know and it was def an unforseen situation and today is only the 2nd day-- so maybe HOPEFULLY they are working on getting another girl in there...but stilll!!!

I think at this point I wouldnt care what anyone else wanted, Id be bringing my dress somewhere else. Theres no reason you cant take it to another place for alterations ... Better safe than sorry - even if it means paying more for another place to do them... Your wedding is going to be here before you know it ... Good luck hun!

ughhh i think im just going to show up there unannounced on thursday!!! and see what the deal is and atleast put the dress on infront of this new lady!

oh nooooo. did the other seamstress guarantee that she WILL be able to deliver your gown on time?
i hate to say this, but it's always best to have a plan b. do the legwork and find a seamstress whose willing to do a 'rush' alteration. you don't want to be put at the last minute (few days before wedding).
