Ok.....after a few phone calls the organist has not called back!

Getting a little nervous..I have called a few times and haven't heard back...when you call you get a recording for the music dept. at my church and you have to leave a message I hope we have music on 7/16

My Organist called me back, but left a message, that he was busy and would get back to me. Well, two weeks later, nothing!!! I guess it happens.

Don't worry Kathleen. I am sure that he will get back to you. But just know that I DO play the spoons if you are cutting it close !!! Deep breaths girl!!!

Well it is either the spoons, or the red and white plastic recorder I had from the 3rd or 4th grade. Though I only know 2 songs - 'Do a Deer' from the Sound of Music or 'Hatikvah' (Israel's national Anthem). Quite a choice!

I think it just goes w/ the territory. When I taught 2nd grade I had to deal w/ the music director/organist at the church for communion & weeks would go by w/o a call. He ended up calling a week before & said he's done this a million times, not to worry, all is taken care of.

Kath, did they give you a letter to choose music, etc?

We just have a sheet & have to fill it out & return it to the organist. I don't even have a number to reach ours.

I wouldn't worry though

I haven't even called yet.

But my church told me I could pick it out at the rehearsal dinner ----UMMMMMMM no!!!!

My Mom is a church organist and trust me, they know what they are doing...She has played the organ for thousands of brides and usually asks brides to contact her about 1 month before the wedding to go over the music that they want...If they call her before then, she will take all of the info over the phone about the music they want and then she will ask the bride to call her back closer to the wedding to finalize everything....You will be fine!!!
