Okay, for those of you who have 6 months or less left, are you anxious to get the what you owe balance down?

So you have less to pay that last month. I know I am!

But I am questioning if I should start paying some of the vendors in full or not?

Do you think that will negatively or positively affect their service?

So far the only the DJ & the officiant are paid in full.

I know the exact amount that is due one month prior to the 'event' and that's all the Photo & Hall will get. If I have money to throw it will go to the Hall first.

Those are my three largest concerns
Hall 3/4 due by the month before
Photo/Video 80% due the month before
DJ - due day of.

Those combined make up nearly 70% of my budget. The rest is small stuff in comparison.

We are trying HARD to no longer spend stupid money. Every check has money going to someone.

Yes, I am def anxious. I want to pay some vendors in full now, just to get it off my head, but I will just follow the contract.

How do you know already how much you owe if you haven't sent out the invitations?

LOL
because im sad and unloved?
I won't meet minimum. EVER
So it's not an issue of paying by head. For us its just the 'cost of the hall'. *shrug*

Me too~ We're trying to make as many payments as possible so we're not stuck in the last month.

IMO, I'd look to pay off the hall, officiant, DJ, flowers, dress in full....leave the photographer until you have your proofs or album. If they have all their money, what motivation do they have to give you your product??? (ahem...personal experience)

the money is all banked for us. i would rather hold onto it for as long as i can so i am making the interest on it and not anyone else. we were fortunate and have all the money saved up so to me it doesn't matter when the payments are due.

we are paying off everything according to the contracts. We paid the photog and vid the 80% that was due. We did the downpayment for the DJ and we are going to pay for our honeymoon in FULL early. We did the florist as well. We are in the process of working out the final count for the guests so we know how much money to put up so that we have less to pay in the end.I wouldn't pay everything in full in the event that any service is not fulfilled.

The money situation is getting really tight. I think we need to trim some more corners to get everyone paid in time.

Same here, pretty much. I don't want to pay anyone in full for services they haven't provided yet. I'd rather be making interest on my own money.

I have been paying things off little by little so the only 3 big bills left are the HM (which I am prepared to charge), the reception, which hopefully when we close on the house I can go to the hall and put down at least half of what we owe and the flowers. My photo has been paid a little each mo, my dress a little each month and the same with other things. Hopefully it will work out.

We felt the same way, but waited until we had to pay them, we wanted to make some interest in the bank. The last week to two weeks before the wedding is crazy. Do not forget about tips. I was getting so annoyed that after shelling out all the money we worked so hard for we had to figure out the tips. But it all came together. I was also afraid to pay in full before the wedding becuase even t hough I had excellent vendors, I was paranoid that now that they got there money would they do as good of a job etc. This is just my opinion. Whatever you do is your decision.

We have an ING savings account too, collecting interest until the dates get closer. Part of me would feel better if we had more check marks in the 'paid off' category than in the 'pending' category, but the extra money in interest is nice!!

I built a MASSIVE spreadsheet with every cent we are going to need and every cent we have with formulas built in to let us know the difference. (Also is helping keep FH aware of the costs!!) We're still short right now, but I think we'll make it.

We are paying accordignto teh contracts, so most of it is at the end. I like it that way, so I can live in denial.
I think we've paind about $4000 in depsosits & purchases ( veil, favors, etc)

I am going to try & make a list so I know how much money we've commited to spending, even though we haven't spent it yet.
