Okay, I feel old...

Uh, so I was just talking to one of my friends who invited us out to dinner Friday night. We can't go b/c we're going out to celebrate FH's bday (just the two of us).

I told her we were having dinner with another friend on Saturday night and asked if she'd like to join us. You would have thought we asked her to go do something on Christmas day or something! She was like 'NO!!! OMG, it's St. Patty's Day! I'm of course going to be in the city.'

The ironic part of this is that I'm 100% Irish and she's not Irish at all. (Not that it matters - everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day )

I mean, I knew it was St. Patrick's Day... but I forgot what that means to many people.

I feel OLD!

I agree completely! I am not 22 anymore and when I hear this I remember that sad fact

Laughing about the 'as if it was christmas' comment!! It is so true!

My reaction to 'Wanna go to the city on Sat' was:
Why?? So I can stand outside a packed bar for an hour, pay a $20 cover, and then fight my way to the bar for the privilege of buying an $8 CAN of beer? Those days are soooooo over! Although the year they passed around a 'leprauchaun' in a boat at Mad River was one of the funniest things I have ever seen!

i never knew st pattys day was considered a party day, what a dork i am. i must've missed out on some serious fun

I def. hear you! My birthday is St. Patrick's Day so every year everyone is dying to go out and party and I just want to go out and have a nice dinner with FH.

Too funny. My FMIL's bday is today and FH's is the day after St. Patrick's Day.

I'm 26 and was NEVER into the going out and partying thing. Especially for the big party holidays like St. Paddy's and NYE, I'd rather just stay in. I never knew Thanksgiving Eve was a big deal either until one year when I saw all these ads!!

I'm Italian, not Irish. So tomorrow DH and I are watching the Godfather Trilogy and eating stromboli!!!!!!!

My friends and I did the 'Christmas Eve Eve' thing too.!!! It was another excuse to drink heavily!

I'm way over all of that partying the night before holidays and St. Patrick's Day. I'll sit home, watch some tv and have some bailey's on ice to celebrate.
