Okay, I need help and please be honest . . .

Original post by BriBri529

Back when we first got engaged 2 years ago and we booked our DJ (Tommy's Tunes) we thought it would be so nice to have our first dance on a cloud. Now I had (and still have not) seen this but thought it sounded so nice and romantic. Two years later I am thinking it might be the cheesiest thing ever and am thinking of getting rid of it. Has anyone seen this - was it nice or cheesey? TIA for your opinions and honesty!

I don't think it's cheesy, but you have to consider the effect that the 'cloud' may have on the room. I got my master's in musical theatre, and I've been in a ton of plays that use fog machines, cloud effects, etc. It looks very impressive, but people sometimes have allergic reactions to it.

I am not a big fan of it. I was at a wedding where they did it and they had to mop the dance floor when they were done because it makes the floor wet (even after mopping it was still slippery) They also used a big black tube to pump out the fog and it was attached to something that kind of reminded me of a garbage can, so while the bride and groom were dancing there was this guy on the dance floor with them blowing fog at them. It kind of reminded us of a scene from ghost busters.

Oh well, I guess my wedding will be cheesy! I really don't care what anyone else thinks -- it's what we want that matters.

Really it is nice, but I just don't think it is my taste anymore- I am sorry if my post about my own personal situation offended you in any way . . .

No, No, YOU didn't offend me! Everyone has different tastes, and that's fine by me. I love it when my taste is called 'super-cheesy'!! I may get a T-shirt that says that!!!

All is good!!

Hey Brianne,

I think it is a cool idea, but IMO I wouldn't do it. That smoke stuff really bothers me and I am just thinking it may bother some of your guests.

Good luck in what you decide.

Hate to break it do you, but Villa Lombardi's doesn't allow the dancing on a cloud. They didn't let me any kind of 'smoke'. My DJ couldn't even spray fog for the laser lights from a can!

Villa Lombardi's allows it from their house DJs I believe . . .

If that's true, they shouldn't lie to their brides who don't use their house DJs!!
They told me I couldn't do anything because of fire codes!

I saw it on A Wedding Story a few years ago and thought it was super cheesy. I'm sorry! :(
