So ladies, I just got back from the doctor's a bit ago. She confirmed that I am pregnant. I am 20 weeks pregnant. I have mixed emotions. I don't know wether to tell my aunt and have her help my fiance and I tell my parents; I feel so bad about my parents. The doc says I have to start the prenatal vitamins now. About the wedding, we have to postpone everything, I'm due December 15, so by Dec 8 i'll be huge. The doc says I won't get very big, but I don't know. Do you girls think I should get married before or after the baby is born??? I don't get my dress until the middle of October, by then I'll be like 7 months pregnant. What should I do. My family and I are catholic, so I definetely want to be married through my church, but I don't know wether to get married through church after the baby is born or before. I can't believe this, I have everything ready for my december wedding. and now this. I feel embarrassed with everyone that is helping out on the wedding. WHAT SHOULD I DO AND HOW AND WHEN SHOULD I BREAK THE NEWS TO MY PARENTS???????? PLEASE HELP

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
I would break it to your parents as soon as possible and perhaps they can help you make the decisions about what to do with the wedding. I had a baby at 16 and I thought my mother would kill me, but she was amazing. I would get all of the stress out of the way so that you can develop a plan and move forward. I'm so sorry that this is all happening this way. But you'll get through it and I'm sure everything will be okay.

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
First off, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! A baby is wonderful news - even if the timing is a bit off.
Secondly, it seems that postponing your big wedding - or moving it up - would be the best since you're due RIGHT after your wedding date.
I think you and your FH need to sit down with your parents and tell them - hopefully they can help you decide what to do about getting married before or after. As to how to tell them, there's really no other way than to just sit down with them and say that you have something to tell them.
I send you lots of hugs and wish you lots of luck. I think I'd feel exactly as you feel if I were in your shoes

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
congratulations!
you're presuming the news would be a negative.... everyone's parents craves to become grandparents! Sure, it's a bit inconvenient to reschedule things, but it could definitely be worse... think of it this way, there are soooo many couples who try and try to conceive. you're little bundle just dropped out of the air...
consider it to be God's wedding gift
I'm rather traditional, so I'd try to get married before the birth.... although I know that would be a heck of a lot of work to reorganize. Talk to your priest, and see what can be worked out.
also, if you end up considering to have the whole celebration / reception rescheduled to an earlier date, there are several companies who make maternity wedding gowns... they're very pretty! I had a friend years ago, who was in a similar situation to you.... she got married at about 7 months, I believe... and everything was perfect...
congratulations, and don't stress.... everything will be wonderful

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
You may be surprised about their reaction!!!! I know that you are probably panicking, however, there are far worse things that you can have presented them with!!!!
Perhaps postpone the wedding until the summer, then you can wear your dress that arrives in October and will have time to get settled.
CONGRATULATIONS!

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
Most of my friends were in the same situation as you. They all moved it up and the family was ok with it. Also I think they were able to get a good deal because there was a cancellation that the RH had to fill. A baby is great news. Congratulations on that.. I would get the stress over with and just tell your parents and you can start the planning.

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
Well personally I would hold off. Only reason why is so the baby can be part of my wedding day! I got preggo and everyone just expected us to get married. But I refused to do it. I said I wanted to wait till she was old enough to walk down the asile and be part of our day! Thats what we did. She was a brat the whole day BUT i got what I wanted! haha
Congrats....and best of luck!!!!!
BUT also if you hold off it will prob cost more $$ in the long run if you need to change dates...so if thats a factor then go with it and get hitched! Oh and as for you wont get big...dont trust that.....I was HUGE!!!!! You never know how it will go.

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
I wouldn't worry too much about your parents. I get the sense from most parents that as soon as their kids get engaged, they immediately begin thinking of grandkids. Unless they're very against premarital sex, I can't imagine they'd be too upset. Definitely tell them as soon as you can--You don't need the added stress.

Re: OKAY IT'S CONFIRMED
First of all congratulations on your news.
I had a couple of friend that was in your situation and she was so afraid to tell her parents, especially her mom. But her mom turned out to be very supportive and even suggested that they have a very small ceremony prior to the birth of their baby. They followed her advice and then had the big ceremony and reception when they renewed their vows for their second anniversary.
What ever you do, you & your FH need to sit down and both your parents and his parents as sooon as possible.
Just remember that we are all here if you need us.

That is such a beautiful thought and I totally agree!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! You will definitely want to tell your parents as soon as you and FH can; yes it may be a bit of a 'shock' but that will quickly wear off and then its ALL GOOD!! This little baby is going to be the APPLE of their eye, guaranteed. You and FH can have a chat and decide for yourselves what's best for you both! Your parents may have some helpful advice too, and I'm sure they'll be happy with whatever you decide!!! Its a lot to digest, so just take a day or two and weigh your options! REST, take care of yourself, and BEST WISHES to you and FH!!!! and grandma and grandpa!!!

i would def postpone the wedding so u fit perfectly in ur dress and look amazing. Plus i hear the first year of marriage is the roughest plus having a baby.. it might b a bit too much. I got engaged when i was pregnant and my daughter is 18 months now and we're are just now getting married. i love that she can be our flower girl!!!

awwww congratulations & this is GREAT news ~ but the timing is a little off ~ I think you and FH should sit down and tell the parents ~ they might surprise you.... parents get all wacked out when they know they are going to be grandparents for some reason! (in a good way) and I think as a family you should make a decision together! dont be embarassed ~ everything happens for a reason!
