Okay, it's my turn!

Original post by LIWeddings

I just opened the bill from cable. My Optimum Online just went from 34.95 last month to 49.95 this month. Are they nuts? When I called to inquiry if this was correct the not so nice woman on the phone said that's the new price. No warning no nothing just an increase to fifty bucks a month. I think it's time to look for a new solution here at home. Any suggestions?

I had a problem with the IO box also. When we moved from Massapequa to Holbrook they told me to bring he box with me, I did, the cable guy hooked it up, that night the box went out. I called they said that the box is no good in another area, so I had to make an appt for the cable guy to come back and install a new one. When he did, he took the old box. I was getting billed $600 for a box I 'never' returned. Good thing I had my 'green' paper that they give you when they come in for service. That paper showed that they took to old box and replaced it with a new one!!!

Lesson learned: Keep all papers that the cable guy gives you when they come in for service!!

Yep... definitely keep everything the Field Techs give you!

Also, the SONY iO Boxes are cool, but have more bugs than the SA (Scientific Atlanta) boxes that are out. I'm not sure if you can get SA in all areas, but if you call and ask they may be able to exchange your boxes. SONY looks better, but
SA works better...

Also... there isn't an employee discount for iO yet, so employees aren't even allowed to have it! (well we can, but we'd have to pay full price for it) so I am jealous of all ya'll who get to play with iO... I think it's fun!

(edited for typo)

Wouldn't do cable again if you paid me. We have Verizon DSL and satellite TV and pay less combined than if we had Cablevision alone (no IO).
It's the best way to go.

Is it true that AOL Time Warner is supposed to merge with Cablevision?

Edited to correct spelling

I think the US Attorney should go right after Cablevision and leave Bill Gates alone. I want competition for my cable business!
And after Cablevision the gov't should go after my arch ememy Ticketmaster!
