Okay October 1, 2, & 3 Brides, when are you ordering your invitations and when are you mailing them out?
I got my invites, so now I am thinking I will be sending them out the 1 and 2 week of June with an RSVP of Aug 23rd.
What is everyone else's time frame?

I was told they need to be ordered 6-months is advance.... I hope to go soon....
As far as mailing them out - I guess 2 - 2 1/2 months before..

I am going to start looking through invitations this weekend and try and have them ordered in the next few weeks. I plan on mailing them out around the first of August.

Really, that early? I have been looking casually, but I figured I wouldn't have to order untill about May- I'm the week after y'all.

My friend is a designer and is making mine, we are working on them now. As far as sending mine out, maybe early July? Not sure what's appropriate

Tara, IMO I think you'd be sending them out too early if you send them the first weekend in June...thats 4 months before your wedding date.....guests should receive invitations about 8 weeks before your wedding date and your RSVP should be in the 2-3 week timeframe before your wedding date. A RSVP of Aug 23rd is more than 2 months before your wedding date....too much time for things to come up with your guests.

I am ordering my invites this week and plan on mailing them out in the middle of July with a RSVP date of 9/3/04. I want my RSVP date a month in advance so I can follow up with those people who dont respond.

I was going to do about the same.. Send them last week in July, first week in August with September 1 as RSVP date. Is that about right? -Kelly

I plan on getting them ordered in the next week or two. I am going to send them out the last week of July, first week of August. I think my RSVP date will be the first week of Sept (about a month before) so I have time to follow up on those that haven't responded and time to plan (seating charts and place cards).

I already have my invitations. They are being mailed 7/14 and the RSVP is 9/13. I also have some going to Europe and those will go out in July.

My RSVP date is kinda early, Aug 23, BUT the busiest time for me at work is the month of September.
So what I was thinking when I picked that date, is I will have a couple days before September to follow-up with people who don't respond on time.
I am trying to get everything done before September, because of work.
