Okay Russo's Brides- I need you again...

Where are you staying?
Where are you blocking for your guests?

And where are you taking pictures?

Re: Okay Russo's Brides- I need you again...

We're staying and blocking rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn/JFK Airport....that's the hotel that Kelly recommended. So far, minor hiccups, but nothing major. We're also having a brunch there the next morning for out guests that are spending the night.

We're only taking pictures at Russo's. I have a major allergy to the sun so I can't really do a park without shade or a place to run to. I absolute LOVE LOVE LOVE the decor of Russo's and the little park and floating gazebo that they have there. Carol Silva, a BM, has a photo album of UNBELIEVABLE shots that were taken only at Russo's...ask to see it. I took my photographer to Russo's to point out shots that I want and Carol showed us that book...TO DIE FOR!!! I hope we can recreat some of those!!

Ok, here's some answers....

How much was the hotel block?

The hotel rooms are $149 a night for our block. We dealt with Maria Huertas at Hilton Garden Inn plus $15 per car for parking. We're paying for parking as part of the OOT bags. She blocked 20 rooms (some 2 double beds...some king beds) and our guests had to call up and reserve a room by June 29th (one month prior to the wedding) to get the discounted rate.

Are you getting there and sleeping there the night of?

Yes we are sleeping there the night of the wedding. Once the wedding is over, my parents will drop us off at the hotel (they have to go home bc their dog doesn't realize he's a dog and can't stay along without them for extended periods of time).

do they have suites and is the brunch included?

I'm pretty sure they do not have suites. And no, the brunch is not invcluded. We are paying $21 per person that comes to the brunch the next day, but we have a private room and are basically getting a buffet breakfast for the price.

So sorry to drive you crazy!

You so aren't driving me crazy....at this point in time my mom and my florist are driving me crazy!!!

ABout the photographer...IDK what photographer shot the pictures that Carol Silva showed us. Carol is a banquet manager at Russo's. Ask Kelly to see about getting the photo album from Carol to look at. I know that the photographers that Russo's recommends was totally out of my price range.

OMG, please don't think twice about asking questions!!!! This site is a welcomed distraction from wedding stuff!!! I absolutely LOVE this site and IDK what I would do without it!!!

Ask away...I seriously don't mind at all!!

'12er crashing. Not a Russo's bride but I'm pretty sure one of the photographer's they recommend is Ricardo Studios (based in SI and Howard Beach). Our friends used them for their wedding and their pictures were gorgeous.
