Okay so who knows something about Old Westbury Gardens?

I just realized this morning when I got to work that I haven't reserved my spot at Old Westbury Gardens yet and I really need to because we need someplace to take pictures that gives us the options of indoor pics incase of bad weather (which I know Old Westbury Gardens does in March at least)

But when you book I heard that you have to request to reserve a specific garden. . .is this true? If it is, for brides who already reserved their spot, which one is the prettiest?

TIA!

Re: Okay so who knows something about Old Westbury Gardens?

one of my BM's just got married last weekend and took her pics there.... im pretty sure she had to reserve a certain area b/c i saw other brides in the other spots of the grounds & we were confined to a certain area..... the only thing i will say about OWG - is that it had rained the day before her wedding so the ground was SO SO SO soft & all the BM's shoes kept sinking into the moist dirt/grass - our shoes were ruined by the time we left there... i actually ended taking mine off b/c it was so much easier that way!!

they are very helpful there tho - they had an OWG attendent walk around with my friend the whole time and help her with her dress... the only thing that ****** was the nasty ground & us sinking in.. but im SURE her pics came out amazing! she had the area right in front of the mansion.... right by the white architectural looking thing & by the mini pond too

thanks for the response! You wouldn't happen to know what the name of the area was do you? Did she take any pictures inside?

Re: Okay so who knows something about Old Westbury Gardens?

hi! i just visited OWG on sunday because i'm taking my pre-ceremony pics there at 9am in april of '08. After you reserve, you should definitely check the place out. take a day and go there to see how beautiful it is. you can always change the picture location after checking the grounds out. I did. i realized in april, none of the roses were out yet. so i can't take pictures in the rose garden. so far, i'm reserved for the boxwood garden, walled garden, and the southlawn/terrace. you can always cancel your reservations later if you decide you don't want to take pics there. but it's definitely worth reserving and checking out for yourself. the pics that i've seen from past brides have been absolutely gorgeous.

I have to reserve a place on the gardens also. The inside is sooo beautiful, I'd rather take pics inside the OWG and outside at my RH. They have certain months when you can take pics inside and outside. Have you checked out their website, you have to complete an application. I think its www.oldwestburygardens.org
