I love the idea. My mom had all her maids in white, it really did look beautiful in pictures. And yes, she stood out because of her dress. Originally i had wanted to get married in the summer and do the same thing to copy her, but now that i'm getting married in May so I changed my color scheme. whenever i mentioned it to people, they looked at me like i was crazy. I still love the idea.

I agree - I don't like the idea of ivory for the bridesmaids. How about an ice blue?

Are you going for a winter-theme kind of thing or you just want it to be all white? I think it sounds like a good idea but I worry that it won't be as good in reality as it is in theory if your girls are in ALL white. Maybe if they had white dresses with a colored sash or something, like this: Dress
ETA: if you just want a winter themed wedding, I agree with ice blue dresses. I think it would look really cute, especially if instead of flowers, you gave them all (faux) fur white muffs.

i did a winter theme and had my girls in purple. i think that it is very cool to be different and if you dont mind that the girls are in the same color as you then go for it. i didnt want anyone in white for my day but me thats just my opinion though. i think that no matter what you choose im sure it will look wonderful

I think it's nice. I like the idea of the BM's wearing a colored sash or ribbon to set them apart also.
Just some history for you guys that 'back in the day' a bride had 'bridesmaids' always to be dressed in white so evil, greed and bad luck wouldn't find the bride. It was meant to confuse spirits. The tradition to have them stemmed from that. Now we just have them as 'maids'!

I like the idea. A friend had her BMs in white at her wedding, and I definitely liked it. The wedding party looked wonderful, and yes - you knew who the bride was.

I love the idea! I really don't think you need to worry about not standing out enough--everyone will still know that you're the bride!
I am seriously considering doing ivory or cream bm dresses. I've always frankly thought it's kind of a strange concept that all the guys are in black (and hello, nobody worries about not knowing who the groom is!), all the girls are in some color, and then there's this one girl in the middle in a big ol' white dress! I think ivory or white bm dresses just makes everything go together so much better. I think it's different in a very good way!!

I think a winter theme would be nice...
I like the idea of an ice blue for the BMs, red roses will look nice against that too.
On A Wedding Story yesterday there was a winter theme- they went so far as to be married outside, the girls wore (don't remember dress color- may have been blue) with white fur stoles, the bride had white fur jacket over her white gown and the groom and gms all had black fur stoles over the tuxes. First I was like what in the world!? But when you saw the outcome it was very beautiful- they used a lot of clear lights, snowflakes decorations and such...
They didn't use any flowers though, the bride didn't even carry a bouquet.
It was definitely unique- I say go for it!

I say do it! It's unique and non-traditional and it sounds like it can be very classy if done right! These days, anything goes!

It definitely sounds unique. If it's what you really want, then you should do it. Personally, I'd want to be the only one in white.
