My FI decided that we aren't going to invite kids to the wedding and therefore not the E-Party because it was just be too much. My feeling is that if you aren't coming to the wedding than you aren't invited to the E-Party and there would be way too many kids anyway.
So yesterday my Mom gets a call from one of her cousins who RSVPs for her, her daughter (who is in my BP) her other daughter and husband AND THEIR 6 YEAR OLD SON!@!!! Ok not even asking...'is it ok if we bring him, I know the invite was just adressed to Mr and Mrs...' NO nothing like that just that they are all coming!!!!
What should I do???

Re: Ok...E-Party and no kids
I would call and tell them its an adult-only party... Its probably hard for people though because they can't find childcare. We are inviting kids to both, but we don't really have too many, and all of them are in the BP.

I would have your mom, or you at this point, just let them know that just as the wedding will be the E-party is adults only. As a soon to be bride and mother of a 6 year old, I would not be insulted if a party was adults only. I would feel more awkward if I showed up with my child and realized she was the only one there under 18. Where are you having your E-party? some places charge much less for children than adults, not too sure if this is a money issue or a space issue...

I mean the money is not the issue and it would be less for kids...we are having it a Knights of COlumbus..BUT its just the principle of it...to not even ASK JUST TO TELL PISSES ME OFF

I hear you I would call and just say it's an adults only party. The parents are a married couple and SHOULD understand. You could always throw in 'Little John John may be bored at an adults only party'

Re: Ok...E-Party and no kids
Kathleen, A lot of people dont have any cooth. They think of themselves only, and no one else. Fortuntately, I have not run into any of this with the wedding (yet...) but have in many other aspects of life.. I tend to be the type of person who lets these kinds of things get to me, but I am learning that its just easier to let them go.. Since she called your mom to RSVP, have your mom call back and say there was a misunderstanding, and the party is for adults only.

Re: Ok...E-Party and no kids
Ok. I dont have kids, but why would anyone bring children to a party only to have to follow them around and not be able to enjoy themselves - especially when the kids arent invited? I am not having an e-party but even the few young children in my BP will be taken home after the cocktail hour so the parents can enjoy themselves. I just don't get it. JMO.
