ok...I need to know if I am nuts!!!

I had to hand in my songs to my band yesterday and I also gave them a typed out copy of all the directions we want for the recpetion...Example: what songs we want, the order of some of things, what we don't want played...etc.....I need to know I am not the only CRAZY bride to do this????

That's not crazy - it's your party and you get to dictate it!! FH and I already made a do not play list to hand in and songs we want played.

Not crazy at all!!! if there are specific songs that have meaning & you want them played at certain times!!!

you're not crazy at all! I have actually been doing the same thing. But mine are more like suggestions i guess. I mean part of the dj's job is to see how the flow is and if it's lacking, to find a song to get people out there dancing, etc. So there should be a little wiggle room. Just a thought.

But i do have a notebook of my songs that i like and different categories. What can i say... i've always been the organized type!

That's so funny, I just mailed the exact same thing this morning, including special dances, dances we didn't want, special announcements, what songs we don't want & who NOT to take requests from (anyone except our parents).

I even included a CD w/ the versions of the songs we want (its a band).

I just told them we didn't want any group dance songs, and gave them a few artists we like and a couple of songs I really love. Other than that, I told them to read the crowd. I feel its their job to play the right songs at the right times - its what they do for a living, and I am trusting them to do their job right. I feel if you dictate the way the whole party should go, you are risking not having appropriate music at the appropriate times - but thats just me.
