OK....Job UPDATE...need advice

Ok..so I got a call from a jewelry store...I have an interview today at 5pm..BUT

I also e-mailed the director of the childcare center I WANTED to work at, told her how miserable I am...she feels bad (haha) called me at 6:45am this morning (which I told her was ok). She is basically CREATING A job for me to get my foot in the door, get my certification, and have a lead teacher position!!

It is less pay ($8.00 or so) since I'd be subbing from 9am-3 and having my own classroom of school age from 3-6:30, until I get a lead position and get certified. BUT...I LOVE kids....

do I go for that even though it's less $$ but I'd ENJOY going to work everyday?

do I cancel my interview tonight?

Never cancel an interview unless you already accepted another job offer.

Take the less money if your household income allows you to still live comfortably.

I agree don't cancel the other interview yet.

I'd rather do a job I love/like for less $ than do one I don't like for more $.

If you definitely have the job at the day care, then it's a great opportunity which will lead to teaching. IF you and DH can afford for you to make less then I say go for it.

I would get the offer from the day care in writing before you turn down the interview (if possible since it's today). Or you can go on the interview which will buy you sometime until you get an official offer from day care. As long as you don't accept a job from the jewelry store, you aren't doing anything wrong

Well, what will make you happy then? I mean, if youare going to go from one job where you are miserable to another that may not lend itself to your happiness, then is it worth it? I say check both out & make an eductaed decision.

I agree and think you should still go on the other interview this evening, see what its all abuot.

though I know in your heart you really want the daycare job.. it is what makes you happy and what you love!

If you can swing it financially, then by all means to for the teaching spot. Its so hard, I know!!
