I just had 10 people say they're not coming b/c of a funeral on my wedding day. I know i'm being terrible...but there is 1 day until my wedding and I know it can be worse but i just broke down and cried in the middle of dinner when i heard the news.

SO sorry to hear! I am sure you paid for them already too! Why don't you ask your matre d to pack up 10 meals and give them to your parents/family...seriously, i know a doggy bag can be tacky but they can give it to them as they are leaving, it's paid for!

Sorry to crash-I would go but I'm not sure what time I'm getting out of work. I would definetly ask them to pack up the extra meals. My dad (who is paying for part of the wedding) said that if people pull this crap with us, he will go to the local homeless shelter and give out the meals or ask if they want to come to the wedding.

I'd go, too if I wasn't taking Monday off...stupid DH...I was taking Friday off but he wanted me to change it. Grr. Is it really at 3? Where is the reception/time? If it's late enough, I could swing it to spare you the agony of 10 missing people.
Do try getting the extra meals if no one can fill up the seats or having something thrown in extra...extra dessert, lengthen the CH something....just see what you can do.
