OK...time for a heartless, mean-spirited vent...Dear Co-worker,

Dear annoying abusing the company phone co-worker,

I am terribly sorry that you aunt [who is likely 75+] is ill with cancer, really I am. Cancer is devastating, especially in the LATER years. I honestly hope she is able to be made as comfortable as possible...BUT if I have to listen to you tell the sob story to one more CONSTRUCTION worker on the phone or vendor or co-worker, I may scream.

I am also really sorry that you sister married a man who was aloof and showed 'abusive' tendencies before she married him and now has 2 kids and he is abusing her. I am also sorry the courts scared her that they can take her kids b/c they've been in the home during the abuse thus suffering emotional abuse. They should've kept that one to themselves until AFTER she rid the house of her abusive husband more as a band-aid to prevent her from letting him back in. BUT if I have to hear you tell this story to ANYONE, the mailman, the payroll dept. at XXXXX steel corp or any of our co-workers again, I seriously will beat YOU up. This isn't really something you should be telling everyone! I am glad to hear he is out of the house and an order of protection has been served. Kudos to her for having the strength to protect herself and her kids.

Also, if you MUST tell this stuff on the phone, can you at least close your office door AND use your cell phone?

Thanks,
hormonal and annoyed.

Re: OK...time for a heartless, mean-spirited vent...Dear Co-worker,

Are you sure we don't work in the same Cie?

My co-worker has been doing it for 1.5 years. Empathy is now out of my vocabulary when it comes to one more tragedy in her life.

I think she is the UNLUCKIEST person on her Earth. Really how much $hit can happen to one person? At this point, it has become so comical to me that I have to get out of my office (seriously!) not to be laughing.

I would have killed myself if I was her (or her husband!!!!!!).

Thank you...one day she left early b/c her dog was ill...she stayed out of work the next day as well. The dog was at the vet...what was she getting accomplished at home?

And yes, I feel just nothing when I hear her stories these days b/c I hear them all the time. I feel awful for feeling immune to tragedy...but come the frick on!
