Hello, I'm a 2011 bride, but I'm back looking for suggestions for a family member.
As a bridal party we want to get her a 'big' gift. She pretty much has everything, but some girls thought about giving a BBQ and fill it with outdoor/BBQ stuff.... First of all, what do you think of this idea? Second, if you like backyard parties etc., would you consider this a good gift? Any other suggestions for a bridal party gift??

I would love that - I think it's a great idea.
If they are big wine drinkers, what about getting them a wine fridge and then doing the wine basket with the poem? (http://www.occasionsonline.com/bridal-shower-gift-wine-basket-poem-tutorial-free-download/) Or doing a lot of different decorations for each holiday?

Would love it except we just had to buy a new one so it wouldn't work for us! Lol
What about luggage and fill with beach towels etc

I think that would be a great gift. If they enjoy hosting outdoor parties/bbqs, go for it.

Sounds like a great idea! The only thing is a BBQ can be kind of tough to buy for someone. One thing to consider is personal preference, you may want to feel her out to see which one she'd want. Some people are very partial to what they like (brand, stainless steal, number of burners, gas, charcoal, etc). Also, another thing to consider, depending on the grill, the box alone can weigh over 200 pounds! (Who knew??) So it may be tough to carry, shlep to a shower, fit in a car, etc. I only thought of this because we just bought one last weekend and had to pay to have it assembled and delivered because the box did not fit into our Jeep. So if you want to assemble it and fill it with tools and stuff you'd have to figure out how you and she would transport it from the shower to her house. I really think it is an awesome idea, I know I would more than happy to get that as a gift but I can just see it being a logistical nightmare lol.
Another option is an outdoor upright coooler filled with liquor, mixers, glasses, towels, napkins, place settings, etc.

Just another 'big gift' idea: For one of my friends, every bridesmaid picked two months out of the year. We got bins and labeled each month. Inside the bins we filled it with stuff for that month (for example: July: 4th of July table cloths, decorations for the house, bbq supplies, red white and blue dish towels, etc.) some of the girls even got more creative and instead of a bin used something to do with that month as well (Cooler for July, Picnic basket for april/may), it was a great idea!
