Anyone ever been to a wedding there? Or what about you girls getting married there-what made it the place for you? We are going there on Wednesday to take a look. Any thoughts?
i used to work there when i was in HS, back then the food was awesome... however, management and the chef has since changed... the deck outside in the back is beautiful on the water!!
I absolutely positively LOVED it when I went to see it. Unfortunately they were right in the middle of changing managers and transitioning the menu from a la carte everything to a more traditional wedding menu, and I didn't want to wait to book a hall.

My girlfriend was going to book there but after she was given all this great info on what would be included in her package by the assistant manager. When my girlfriend went back to book it turns out that they ended up finally getting someone to fill the manager's position and he is a real idiot. The new manager was not accommodating, did not honor anything that the assistant manager had offered and was plain out rude. So, they went back home to think about everything they had talked about with the manager and decided they were not going to book with them. They recently booked a different place and the fact that they didn't book has caused an uproar within the country club. Now the club has been calling them begging them to come book with them and when my friend told them that they had already put a deposit down somewhere else they offered to reimburse her. But my friend's have already been so disgusted they turned them down once again.
I have been to several functions there and loved it. If they had a management change it could be shaky but I would think it's worth a look. They may have worked out the bumps.
It is really really beautiful. DH and I would have booked it if we weren't having a winter wedding. We wouldn't be able to use the gorgeous grounds. We didn't have a tasting, so I don't know about the food though.
I haven't been to a wedding there, but last month we went to a work-related dinner there on a weeknight. It is essentially one open room, so I don't know how they do a cocktail hour indoors. During the dinner, service was uneven. Some tables were served 10 minutes before other tables, so it seemed they were short-staffed. The server for our table was serving at least one other table. In addition, the tables were close together, with the tray stands located near the wall, so the servers had to squeeze between tables to put their trays down. It seemed like an accident waiting to happen. The food was fine. Perhaps it would be nice for a small wedding (
