Old Field Club
I went home from Boston this weekend to decide between Lands End and Lombardi's on the Sound, yet ended up with an entirely different place!
I brought my mom along this time since she hadn't seen either. Up until this point we were set on Lands End. I was all excited to show her but she HATED it! I was shocked, but she was so upset and did not like it at all. I was really upset at first, but we had lunch and talked it out. Our options were just go with Lombardi's, which we loved but didn't feel like it was totally us, or look more.
Living in Boston makes looking around so difficult and tiring. I was exhausted already at this point from driving home. We tried to brainstorm as to other places and then it came to us, what about The Old Field Club???
We called them up and went to check it out an hour later and LOVED it! The main room is amazing, wooden floors and high ceilings, it's so intimate, and the location is fabulous. It's across from the beach and right on the water with the gorgeous high grass. We just knew it was right.
So right now we're looking at Sep. 2009 and hopefully I'll be booked by Mon/Tues!!!
I'm a bit nervous b/c it is a smaller place, but in the end that's what we wanted. We'll only have 150 TOPS. So in the end I'm saving money, I'm happier, and we get the place the entire day/night!
Is anyone else getting married there in 2008/2009??? If you're still looking at places I would definitely recommend checking it out!!
