So I am thinking that my original idea of hiring a caterer might be a bit of a hassle - I don't want to have to worry about every little detail and the cost might be a bit prohibitive. So we are looking at some more traditional venues - while the food not might be unforgettable, we thought about what was most important to us at the wedding - which is having all of the people we love celebrating and having a wonderful time. And frankly, after a few drinks, doesn't all of the food taste good!
I was looking at some pictures on line and was really taken with the look of the Old Field Club. I worry it might be small though - what is their max. And does anyone have any quotes they can share. We are thinking November, if dates are available, or perhaps even Feb.
Thanks so much!

Re: Old Field Club Max/Quote
Have you seen it in person? I loved it...it was just too far on the island for my family/friends who are closer to the city. Otherwise may have chosen it. I remember they seemed very reasonable. Not sure about the max.

Also, check out Aug07OFCbride and her review - she had a beautiful wedding there and may be able to give you some advice.

I don't have any quotes or anything, but the daughter of a woman that works for me had her wedding there and it was beautiful. The the food was good, service was great and it was a really nice wedding.

I know that the max is 170. As for pricing, I would have no idea for that time of year.

$110 per person for 2009 for a Friday Night wedding - with a $800 ceremony fee.

I believe the max is 180...and the $110 is also for a Sunday night wedding as well.
Definitely check it out, it's gorgeous!

Thank you so much! I am going to check it out.
We are hoping to be right around 170, and the $110 is a little higher than I was hoping, but I'll check it out!

Re: Old Field Club Max/Quote
I love the OFC and am grappling with the same concerns about max number of people - their manager told us 180 max, but we have been there, and that might be tight. Especially risky if weather does not permit and everyone is inside. Its a beautiful place - I'd be interested to hear what the FM was about as well. Also, they charge 110 pp on a Friday and Sunday, 130 on Saturday. HTH!

Re: Old Field Club Max/Quote
These are the #s I had written down but they may have changed since then. Ceremony fee- I remember it being maybe $700. Sunday is $110pp, Friday is the least expensive- $100-105pp, and Saturday is most expensive- $125pp (but remember plus gratuity and sales tax it will be more).
I chose sunday bc there is no minimum and i always wanted a small wedding. We only had 50 ppl. But the OFC can fit about 170-180 max I believe.
Like someone else mentioned, you can check out my review for more info. Or FM me.
Blessings!

Hi!
You had a 50-person wedding at the Old Field club? I've been begging them to let me do that, but they've told me they require 100 people Friday, Saturday AND Sunday. I'm so sad. I really would love to have my wedding there, but they won't budge on the minimum.

my friend is getting married there in August on a sunday, and I believe she is only invited 100 people, so she probably will end up with like 75....I know a saturday/friday would be hard to negotiate the minimum....but try for the sunday.
