I live in a co-op and this elder lady drove into one of the apartment buildings shes ok but i dont know how that could have happened maybe it was too dark for her!!

As much as I LOVE and adore most elderly people, I have to agree......some should not be on the road anymore.........
I say that for their OWN best interest too.....
I hope she is OK though. That had to have been sooooos scary for her.

I agree, no offense I know they need to get around as well, but someone almost caused a bad accident on the triboro, elderly man on the cell phone just cut my FH off and almost clipped him..he acted like he did nothing wrong

OMG I agree...
I witness it a lot REALLY scary!!!
One time an elderly man drove me off the road- he put on his signal and just CAME over into my lane- not looking, nothing and I happened to be RIGHT next to him so I had no where to go but off the road (and I could not brake fast enough b/c we were neck and neck)...
So I went off onto the grass and he just kept going- he had NO CLUE what happened It is very sad but I mean, what can we do? They shouldn't be driving- I think they should have road tests past a certain age every couple of years.
I mean, I used to drive with my Grandpa SCARY-- my Mom stopped letting me drive with him after a while and finally- her and my Aunt had to take the keys away

I think that since we have a minimum age requirement for driving their should be a maximum age requirement. Or they should have to take a new driving test once they get to a certain age, because some elderly people are still able to drive pretty well.

Thats horrible, I have to agree that old people should not be driving, or they should be reassessed on an annual basis to test their ability.
