Old Westbury Gardens

I just tried to call but the office is closed now. So, I was wondering if anyone know if they still charge a fee for Old Westbury residents. My MOH lives in Old Westbury and thinks this may help us out.

My FH and I are searching for a nice, affordable place to do our photos that doesn't have a gazeebo or pond as the focus, or a long ride from Garden City/Franklin Square. Our reception site doesn't have much for grounds for photos. Our photographer couldn't help us out much but I know you ladies can!! THANKS!

Re: Old Westbury Gardens

I know they charge a fee, that is where we took our pix and she never ask/told us about a non-resident fee. The earlier you go the cheaper it is. It was $275 for the time we were there 12 - 1:00pm I think after 4 pm it goes up to about $300 or $350. Call in the morning and ask for Jennifer Fugina, she was very helpful.

All the best and happy planning

Re: Old Westbury Gardens

I was a little worried about booking them because they only do 2 weddings a day from what they told me, plus our wedding is on a holiday.. We have the gardens from 2-3:30 for 275.00, If you want more time there is more of a charge, and if you have over a certain amount of cars/people it is more money.. Good Luck look at Shamma's pics and you will definately want to book it.

Re: Old Westbury Gardens

I don't think Jenny works there anymore. I know if you just want to use the outside it's about $175 (someone just told me that) But that is for November & you cannot go inside the mansion-the grounds are yours for an hour and a half. I am pretty sure that if you want to use the gardens and the inside it's about $400 maybe even more--it can get very expensive. I will try to find out the name of the lady who 'replaced' jenny-like i said i'm almost 100% positive she doesn't work there anymore......Did you think of Planting Fields Arbereutm in Oyster Bay? It's beautiful! Where I got engaged! They only charge about $90 or $100 I believe--ask for Joyce when & if you call! Hope this helps!!

Re: Old Westbury Gardens

Thanks for the info.! I will try to call the lady listed on the website tomorrow. The Planting Fields are a bit far. We liked this park in Glen Cove, but it would be 1 1/2 hours driving round trip! Any other suggestions would be helpful!!!

Re: Old Westbury Gardens

I live in Garden City and it is not far at all to go to the Nassau County Art Museum - They have nice grounds from what I remember I went to a wedding there years ago but I know they have sculpture gardens

Re: Old Westbury Gardens

Nassau County Museum of Art also has a GREAT rose garden. It's a formal English style garden. Not as big as Old Westbury Gardens or Planting Fields, but they take very good care of it.

Also, I've heard that CW Post is a great place to take pictures. I went to Hofstra, and the campus is really pretty around the time of the Dutch Festival (May). There are tulips planted all over the place!

Finally, you may want to take the time to check out Eisenhower Park. It's bigger than Central Park, so I'm sure that they have a lot of areas that are fantastic for taking pictures that many people just don't know about. I'd contact the Nassau County Parks department to see if they have any ideas.

Re: Old Westbury Gardens

Try also SUNY FARMINGDALE, although it is out of the way. It is cheap and beautiful. I think someone recently posted about it....I graduated form there this past May and got some amazing shots back there--it's gorgeous!!
