Old Westbury Gardens Vs. Planting Fields

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out the best place to take pictures that area for September next year. . I am having my ceremony in Manhattan and then a late start cocktail hour at the Westbury Manor in order to have time to take pictures. I'm looking for all opinions here. I heard that the people at the Old westbury gardens can be very pushy and bossy about where you take pictures even though you pay dearly. Others reccomended the Planting Fields as a cheaper alternative. Any advice? Alternative locations?

I love the Planting Fields. You go in with your BP, videographer & photographer & walk the grounds. No one is there watching you or escorting you.

It was also much cheaper than Westbury Gardens and I think the grounds are gorgeous!!

I knew nothing about Planting Fields until a friend of mine got married in April and took her pics there...it's GORGEOUS there. It almost looks like you are somewhere not in the US...there are columns there that just remind me of another time and place...

And, then there was this cute pink house...oh, wow...I WISH I could take my pics there...

Where are the Planting fields?
How far in advance must you pay?

The Planting Fields are in Oyster Bay.

The cost is $120 and you need a permit. I got one 4 days before the wedding!

The place does look like you are in
fantasy land. It's very beautiful! Someof my favorite pics are under the columns!

I had my pics at Old Westbury Gardens, and it was a GREAT experience. The staff was extremely helpful and not pushy at all.
I'd say the pics I took there are some of our best pics.
It was worth every single penny. We paid $275

Jennbaby - those pictures are spectacular - That is just the type of photos I'm hoping to get! I will definitly check it out in September - Hopefully they'll let me walk around and get a look at the place before I pay.
