Older first-time brides

Re: Older first-time brides

I'll be 41 and FH will be 45, first marriage for both of us.
Having a fairly large wedding, about 170 guests. MOH, BM and FG only. Don't need the stress of an entourage.
We'll do the family intro, his mom is so proud and I don't want to deprive her of the moment. We'll do the traditional dances, but no way am I doing a bo-k toss or a garter toss. At this stage of my life find them to be tacky. Absolutely no cake smashing in the face.

I am looking for my reception to be an elegant party, not a correographed affair. I find that being older, I know what I want and know how to get it without making myself crazy. I also know not to sweat the small stuff, that there is some things I just cant control.
I want to have fun on my wedding day.

Happy to see that there are some older brides out there.

I totally agree with you. We are having a small wedding, though. Inviting just close family and friends...those that have been there for us through the years. We decided that we are going to our cocktail hour to enjoy the time with our guests.
